I honestly forgot Thomas Robinson was on the team. He hasn't played in a while.

I was thinking about that on the way to my class, I came to the conclusion that he probably got waived at the deadline and I just missed that news. Guess he's still on the team

I would trade Mozgov for a retired Kevin Willis if it means the end of whining on LG.

I know that's right...

At this point, adding talent to the team is always necessary and Sanders is talented then most of our players on the team, if he's ready to come in and help the team then Lakers need to give him a chance.

I see it as best case scenario, he's a taller Tarik Black, worst case scenario he (bleep) up with the chemistry and is unable to get off the bench.

Adding random, uncertain pieces does nothing to us.

We did it in the past when we were winning, I don't see why that changes now.

Guys, guys, guys, his problem was weed, and being bi polar - two things that can and have gotten fixed. It worked with artest, a good therapist can work wonders and oh by the way, weed is legal in 7 states- It's comical that a league like the NFL has an anti weed policy but does't mind getting players hooked on oxy.
In recent interviews sanders seems lucid, present, and analytical of the past, and most people can change with good therapy.
Being crazy didn't seem to stop voters in november so why start now?

Another question I'm surprised haven't been brought up already, is Sanders really the guy you want around a young group? In LA?

Sanders lives in LA and he's been attending Lakers games from my understanding. If he does sign, he'll already be familiar with the locale. IMO, I think it will be a low risk, high reward move. He is the Noel everyone wants, except he was Noel before Noel. I see more pros than cons -- mobile rim protector, fits Luke's switch heavy defensive, can defend 1-5. Give him a chance and see how it work outs. Zubac isn't quite ready and the team needs a legitimate paint presence.

He's not as good as Noel. People are super overrating him and I have no clue why. I guess the grass is alway greener on the other side, but I question if he's even better than black at this point much less Noel.

I would take Sanders athleticism over Noel's which is important for a big.

I remember people were bashing us for working out Whiteside too and agreed that Byron not bring him on cause we had Jordan Hill.

Oh.. how that's changed.

Anyway, I don't expect Larry Sanders to have that kind of resurgence.

I do think if he was in shape and focused he can be a commodity. But those first 2 things would be the hardest thing.

He thus far was a flash in the pan, good for one year, 4 years ago, and then fell off.

So we'll see.

Anyone expecting Sanders to have whatever skill Black has offensively is going to be disappointed. Black actually has a credible mid-range shot if left open and isn't a horrific FT shooter. Sanders is strictly a finisher and defensive presence, and that's a best-case scenario if his head is right and if he hasn't lost his athleticism. A poor man's Noel in a best-case scenario, I'd say.

Signing him only makes sense if we trade one of our centers. Right now we have Black, Zubac, Moz, and Robinson. Moz is getting PAID, yet he can't get any minutes right now.

Interesting. Nice gamble if only 1 year deal. Talented but mentally not the strongest guy.

I would actually prefer a 2 year deal if we were to take a chance on here with the last year a TO or unguaranteed.

He really only had one good year in 2013. After 2 years off, I doubt he would be able to get back to that level.

Right. saying 1 year guaranteed money.

On a Yi Jin contract, yes.

Do you really not see a difference in the two situations?

A few thoughts;

A- the FO needs to assess if his skills are up to par
B- will there actually be PT for him? Moz i& Thomas are already on the bench
C- are his "personal" issues, that made him retire, gone ? Or is he looking for another sucker to squeeze?

Pop said something about the the type of caracter he looks for in a player beyond the obvious skill set...in this case, those questions need to be answered.

Just some thoughts
