Play the 220 pound Nance against the 270 pound cousins
No time out for last shot
Experts please rationalize this for me? Tell me our coach isn't trying to lose... |

Nance, Jc and Tarik are part of the young core and they played their hearts out down the stretch. |

Shocked Luke didn't call a timeout, but I'm not sure if I should give Luke some dap or just smh for his coaching performance. |

We will care about winning again when this whole draft pick mess ends after this season. |
Thats bull[expletive] and also proves my point.
Because that's the same [expletive] excuse after every 'cheer for losing' season of the past 3 seasons. That's why losing is a disease and it's contagious.
Like an addict looking for a hit, it's "just one more time, and then I'll quit."
You're never gonna quit till you stop being afraid of losing and putting off 'wanting to win' for 'one more year'.
Till then it's bull[expletive] with the "oh just one more year then we'll care about winning.".
That's the addiction. |
Well it's the Lakers fault for not putting putting pick protection on the Nash and Howard trades It should had been top 10 pick protection from 2015 till now. Also let's not forget about the new CBA that is basically forced us to build through the draft.

I hope you are prepared to see 20+ blow out loses cause he's the reason why most of our games have been competitive and entertaining. |

Cousins was on pace to score over 40 after the first quarter. We had no answer for him. |

That's the best you get with 5 sec and you have to push the ball full court. Luke should have called a timeout. |
Yeah, was wondering why they didn't call timeout. Fun game to watch in the 4th. Too bad we didn't get a good look. |

Me too. The only rationale is they want to showcase Lou but seriously this BS needs to stop. |
definitely. I'm just not invested in winning if it's because of the vets.
Winning at this time of the season is practically pointless unless we're playing DLo, Ingram, Randle and Zubac. Especially in our case where we have a chance to lose two first round picks (jeez, that trade was the turning point of our fortune). |

no one would be mad at winning games if it was because of DLO or Brandon Ingram or Zu or even Randle.
I don't see anything positive coming out of winning a game because Lou had 30 points. That doesn't help develop our young guys, it's not gonna attract free agents, it's not going to get us in the playoffs. It does NOTHING but justify him getting more minutes.
I'll gladly say (bleep) the tank and go 500 from this point on if that was because DLO/Randle/Ingram/Zu were getting 30-32 minutes and winning games through random flashes but that's not whats happening. |

That's the addiction. |
I want to win with the young core not have Lou show with the young guys just spectating like last season. I thought Luke would stick to his words about developing the core. This is not the way to do it. |
I want to win in general.
These kids will come along regardless of a game or two here and there where they aren't playing well and didn't get to close cause Lou was scoring 20 points in the 4th quarter.
if Russell didn't develop it wouldn't be because of one faithful tuesday night vs Sacramento.
Ingram got the most burn out of our youngsters tonight and was playing pretty well.
Some nights all three will get burn, some times one will get more than the other two, and sometimes two will get run and the third won't. That's how development works.
Mudiay got ALL the minutes last season and ALL the opportunities. Is he a better player this year? Exactly.
It's all about them becoming consistent pieces and growing into their games and themselves.
That is gonna be where the ultimate 'development' happens.
fyi Russell banged knees this game, so understandable why he wasn't back in as if the 5 TOs weren't enough of a reason.
Randle could have been out there, but whatever we did obviously was working as we were within striking distance late.
And tbh if we win a game, regardless of whether D-lo played 30 mins or 25 minutes I am not chalking it up to the 'one faithful night his development mattered on'.
That's a bit too overdramatic, because Luke is doing essentially everything else right in terms of developing D-lo as well as Randle. So there's a lot of credit there as well which is gonna matter in the long run.
Till then, I'm not gonna hate a Laker going off for 20 in the 4th quarter and nearly leading us to victory, especially if we have that Laker on a 7m a year contract.

Perfect game!
Lou dominates 25/5/2/1 in only 24 minutes (increasing his trade value), Lakers lose (necessity) by 1 point (make it appear we're actually competing and not tanking).
I hope the rest of the season go exactly like this game and we move into the 2nd pick slot of the draft.
My only care is the Lakers long term plans of competing for Championship... no matter how many loses it takes to set that up! _________________ A three headed monster... Jeannie, Pelinka, and Ham... another terrible season.

Nance was on the floor because he's one of their better players. The game was probably closer than it should have been. |

Why does Luke never use timeouts to make substitutions? Drives me crazy. Larry on Cousins huh? Lol. No time out? Wtf.
Listen, I'm good with this season...as in I'm over it. Luke isn't that good, neither is DLO or Randle or BI. Our two best players are journeyman checkers...Lou and Swaggy. Deng and Mosgovs were huge busts who we have to pay a ton of money to over the next 3 years...I'm just down about this team.
Four things need to happen for me to be interested in this team next year
1) Keep our pick
2) trade lou
3) let swaggy walk if he opts out
4) hold someone accountable (fired) for the deng and mosgov signings
If that happens, i'm back next year and cheering for a .500 season and growth. Right now, unless I'm missing something, we have a totally inept FO who hands out huge contracts to old/bad players and refuses to give their young guys burn. Listen, we aren't winning more than 30 games this year no matter who is on the court...let DLO/BI/Ingram/Zubac play 35 together...damn, it's not that hard. |

Here's a thought: maybe the young guys are not prepared to carry us to wins yet at there early stage.
I'm fine with vets being a good example to the youth. |

If Cousins had the right coach and changed his mentality a bit, he could be the best player in the league. |
