Pau/Howard/Kobe/Ariza didn't get (bleep) from them but lets all moan about Lou getting a 1st round pick. Oh god

The moaning is about us getting Brewer

I'm of the belief we are packaging nick and Corey for another first rounder. Rob'em Magic!

I'm seriously shocked that people are focusing on brewer lmao.

Then again, a lot of these people are probably the same ones that make the... "listen to me guys, deng and mozgov for lebron james, the salaries match. Plus mozgov was in cleveland before and people like him. Does anyone else agree this would be a good trade?"

Ha. Seriously. The "best" player on the 3rd worst team.

That would be great.

Please make it so.

Honestly, I would have rather gotten a high 2nd and an expiring contract for Lou. The $9 million more cap space and an extra roster spot are more valuable than the extra 5-8 draft spots.

Very true, great point!

Plus think about Gobert at 27, Zubac at 32, Jokic at 41, they would all be top 10 picks if there specific draft's were held again.

Wow, that was a shocker. Brewer has been pure garbage for the last two seasons. I figured we would have to give up a pick just to dump him.

I guess you guys are trying to (?):

- make sure you keep your lotto pick this year

- acquire as many picks as possible to package for a bigger move

I don't like giving up our 1st in a good draft, but we need wing depth. Gordon and Beverly are injury prone.

Guess the new mentality is now gonna be

"The last 10 picks are really like the 1st 10 picks!"

We'll see how that holds up if/when we lose our other 1st rounder.

I'd think that this board is more intelligent than to cry and moan when we just traded a guy who is helping us win useless games, take time of our most important young piece, and plays a style we don't need for a first round pick.

Seriously, Pau couldn't get us better than 2nd round picks. Brook Lopez can't get a first and a second.

Teams like Houston celebrating getting Lou for only Brewer and a First should be excited... they're going for a title. That pick does nothing for them.

Teams like us should be stoked that we got another first round pick instead of again not making a move only to watch the guy eventually leave. That pick, given our recent draft history, should be a big piece.

Common sense post.. I'm a little taken back how little of it I'm seeing in regards to this issue. Considering how astute most of the posters on this site are.

Lou was one of the few reasons to watch the Lakers. Too bad they couldn't get more for him.

I'd rather preserve a max slot for 2018 anyway, so I don't really care about Brewer's contract. A slightly better player or higher pick would have been nice, but oh well

No it's not. Not at all. Especially when 2017 FA is nothing to write home about.

2018 FA is another story, and Lou and Brewer both expire there.

Clearly we're tanking as hard as the league will let us. Maybe DLo, Julius and Ingram will be taking random "rest" days as we get closer to the end... matter of fact, it wouldn't be the worst thing if Brewer has the flu and gives it to all our guys so they're weak for another two weeks...

It's a tank move and getting the pick was a bonus. Now we are looking to move Nick.

When we get the next Gobert at 27 or so, or Jokic whom was drafted at 41 we will thank you then. Enjoy your run up until the 2nd round...

I guess you are still a believer that a team with bottom record can sigh star in the free agency market.

Magic hires Sedale "The thief" Threatt for player transactions.

Yea this looks terrible on paper but we need to tank. You guys made out great, Lou has been a killer. I'll enjoy watching him play with the Rockets.

K, but focusing on the bad pick isn't exactly great either

Was Nance or Gobert bad picks at 27?

Was Zubac at 32, Jimmy Butler at 30, or Jokic for just 3 more examples bad picks? And this list can go on and on.

Diamonds in the rough are waiting for us...

Isaiah at 60?

People were raising cane about the idea of the trade deadline passing without getting a first rounder for Lou. Then as soon as we move him, they moan it wasn't 3-4 spots above where they perceived it to be.

The difference between players after 20 is all a matter of opinion. Draft boards can vary wildly between teams. Remember when people complained that they wished Anthony Brown was taken with our first rounder instead of Larry Nance?

If you thought we were getting Oubre or Exum in exchange for Lou, I suggest you stop eating glue and find the nearest poison control center.
