I think with all the trade buzz happening I feel that buzz is nothing more than just smoke. Outside of Lou will and Young, No one wants anything the lakers have. Both Deng and Mozgov have very toxic contracts. Maybe package Moz with Lou Will to a contender for someone who needs the services of Lou Williams....Cleveland Perhaps?

other than that.... I think the Lakers will stand pat and possibly try again next season.

If they stand pat, I don't blame Magic for then taking over and for Mitch/Jim to go kick a bucket.

Standing pat on obvious value like Lou Will and Young who is gone after this season is ridiculous. Young is harder to move obviously but no excuse for not moving Lou Will when this team is in rebuild mode, needs the assets and needs to give more minutes/usage to the young core.

I feel like moving Lou makes too much sense for it not too happen.

Depends on the deal. Lou is great off the bench, but he's wasting his
time in LA, we're not going anywhere for the next few years.

We'll see

If there is no trade partner willing to give what Lou is worth or what the Lakers want, then they shouldn't trade him. And Magic can't do anything about it, because currently, he's only a consultant, and has no line responsibility or authority. Hopefully, that's all Captain Obvious ever is.

The Lakers don't make many trades because they don't trade for the sake of trading, they trade when they negotiate a great deal.

No one trades for the sake of trading.

But sometimes they end up doing a trade that doesn't work out, that's why there is only a few great GMs in the NBA or even in NBA history.

Thanks Magic Johnson!

If they stand Pat on Lou Williams, it just means he's value around the league isn't as high as Laker fans think. If anyone offers a first-round pick or decent player he's gone it. If he's not gone it means that the best offer was a second round pick

Mitch has been asleep at the wheel for a while now. It seems like he basically only gets up for the draft these days

If Korver and Ibaka can net a first round pick then Lou should also. Unlike those two he is under contract for next season.

When no one knows who is really incharge...I won't be 1% surprised if there are no trades. Why would Mitch and Jim care if they have indications that will be fired some time in future?

Unless they actually have a trade in place that Magic agrees with, my guess is they're gone by Monday or Tuesday. This gives Magic a little time to play GM and offer Lou for Lebron James.

He won't pull the trigger unless he gets a 1st round pick too.

The Calderon trade was 2-1/2 years ago?

He's worth $0 as soon as this season is over, because that's what he will walk for. So, the Lakers have to take what they can get.

Rubbish. He's signed through next season.

I sort of like how Mitch doesn't pull the trigger often. It's not like we've had much to offer other teams, and the franchises that get impulsive, like Sac, get fleeced.

I also like how we've managed to trade cash for Clarkson, Nance, Black, and two 2nd rounders.
