Another bait and switch by a Norcal team....first it was the 49ers when they had you thinking they were gonna be good and they managed to get a new stadium out of it.....then they put a terrible product on the field after they get the new stadium.
Now the Kings, all those years trying to get a new arena, when they finally get it, the Kings are looking to contend for a playoff spot as well, then bam, Boogie out of town and a crappy product for the fans to watch in cowtown....
this is huge. the pelicans are set now. they can be better than the warriors and cavs within a year. easy. wow.
If we know anything about todays NBA is that superstars love to team up with each other.
Potential players leaving for the Pelicans?
CP3
Westbrook
PG13
Who knows...all I know is that the Pelicans have better pieces to compete versus yesterday.
that was my first thought too. What is different about this trade vs others in the past is this is the two best big men in the league now on the same team. And big men in basketball, despite all the nonsense we've seen lately, still rule. You don't even need the star guards anymore because all the starter guards are good enough to take the two best big men to a ring. THis trade is crazy.
When we won in 2009-2010, what people very conveniently overlooked was not that we had the best player in the league in kobe, but we had like 3 of the top 10 big men in the league with bynum, pau, and odom. This trade should be so disappointing to Laker fans who understand because we are not going to win anything for a while now. If Paul George, one of the most skilled, underrated players and IMO a top3 player in the past 5 years joins them, it's over.
curry, durant, lebron, kawhi, harden...none of it matters much anymore in the long run because they all have issues with their game compared to a guy like paul george playing on a good team. I'm not saying they wont win rings, but the quality of it will be BS like lebron winning last year was nonsense. But from a quality basketball standpoint, cousins is the best big man; no 7footer can do what he does. Davis is the best so far of the new breed type; guys like giannis may be able to compare soon. That's legit talent, not fake lebron hype. And that's what i'm saying about PG13 too if he joins. FOrget westbrook, he also has holes in his game compared to george.
So everytime I'm tinkering with the trade machine and think that this trade is too one sided, I will remember to think about this transaction and yes, anything is possible in the NBA....
Every now and then, its important to remember that your organisation isn't the worst organisation in the league.
Thank you, Sac for providing us all with that knowledge.
I can't (bleep) wait to see this front court. This is (bleep) great. _________________ A banana is killed every time a terrible thread or post is made. Save the bananas. Stop creating terrible posts!

I agree
Best PF/C combo in the league. Davis is the perfect player to put next to Cousins and will help make up for his (Cousins') defensive deficiencies. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

What a burden to place on the shoulders of a rookie. He goes from rising star to the face of a dying franchise. Can't imagine what that locker room will be like now. You get rid of the disruptive influence but a lot of those guys now know their days are numbered as the team looks to rebuild.
I was surprised how many players on the Kings' roster are 30 and over. Ten straight years of going to the lottery and all you've got to show for it is Willie Cauley-Stein and Buddy Hield. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant
oh yea. cousins can dribble like a pg. he's a very talented and clever player. you can't take you're eye off of him, unlike any other big int he league. and now he's paired with davis, who can basically do everything and is athletic. it's unstoppable as far as i can see.

Pelicans have a borderline All-Star PG in Jrue Holiday too. If the Pelicans wind up in the 8th seed, I wonder if Golden State will have problems. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

Would you say it's better than Bynum/Gasol?
I think so. AD like Kobe said is like an athletic Pau and prime Bynum/Cousin is a wash
cousins is FAR better than bynum, cmon. maybe not in all things, but in most things. maybe bynum was better with defense on truly big guys because he was very long, but overall cousins is a spectacular talent. AD isn't as clever as Pau or as skilled in the low post, but overall he is very athletic compared to pau and he's of the new breed of big men who kind of do everything pretty well. The combo is significantly better than bynum and gasol. there shouldn't even be much of a question....they are championship contenders immediately in the sense that it doesn't even really matter who else is around them, because there are loads of small to mid height players out there who are all good enough to help them win a ring. this is such a big trade, again, i can't believe it. THis is like when Pau joined Kobe, you just knew it was over.
