He's the kind of player that helps when your team is lethargic and needs to take back some momentum from the other team. He can turn games around with his energy. He's a real pro and good with fans. I think he'll go back to Houston.

I was wondering why I didn't see him on the bench in Atlanta.

Corey Brewer is a true professional on and off the floor. Good mentor and role model for the young guys. I wish him nothing but the best. Wherever he goes I will always root for him.

Damn Brewer really grew on me this season. He was responsible for infusing life into our 2nd unit a handful of times.

Brewer's Laker tenure lasted a year and a week... and his official LG thread only made it to 9 pages

Appreciated Brewer's hustle - I'd like to think it was a good example for our young players. Magic/Pelinka FO also continuing to treat players well (trading Lou/ Clarkson/Nance to contenders, buyouts before playoff eligibility for Bogut/Brewer), so hopefully that buys some goodwill with NBA agents/players

Curious what a "buyout" looks like for Brewer? Anyone know the details?

Already an expiring and only about 20+ games left. Also new team will pay him. So is it simply a legal agreement that he relinquishes his last few paychecks or do the Lakers actually pay him some type of severance to release him?

Appreciate the energy and professionalism he brought to the team. Wish him luck.

Now if only the FO could get Deng and his agent to agree to a favorable buyout. Now that would be impressive!

Corey Brewer expected to take his time in deciding his next spot after his Lakers buyout, I’m told. Cavs, Wizards, Portland, Bucks have shown some interest already, but Corey wants a legit role.

Any plans to sign someone instead of him? Maybe 10 days contract to try some shooter?

"I helped the guys as much as I could," Corey Brewer said. "I didn’t mind being a mentor. There’s a lot of good guys. When you can still play you don't want to be in a situation where you’re not playing."

definitely was a pleasant surprise.

i think it's even safe to say he was responsible for a few wins this year with his infectious energy.

hope the youngins learned from his motor and professionalism (and hopefully not anything else)

He said he gave Ingram some good defensive tips so I appreciate that. Still wonder if we should have gave a G-leaguer his minutes.. he did win us a game though , think it was Houston

Honorable mention for I believe the 2 games @Phoenix. He got in Booker’s head and it was a key to both wins. I think the first matchup, Booker went off until Brewer was tasked with stopping him. Second game I think he frustrated Booker to the point where Booker got into it with Shaw

Him being on the team was unnecessary if you ask me. He didn’t exactly help the worst shooting team in the league with his 18% 3pt shooting
