The 12 year drought wasn't a playoff drought... and not this way. In those 12 years, we won 60+ games in 2 of them, 50+ in 4 of them, our worst season was 33 wins and missed the playoffs only once.

And lets not overlook that all of the plans that Magic's laying out have been the same as what Mitch and Jim had.
When Mitch and Jim were in charge Jeanie and Magic were demanding an IMMEDIATE turn around, now all of a sudden they realize it's going to take time.
It's also obvious they had this planned some time ago. For them to fire Mitch and Jim and have a new GM ready to go at a moments notice is a sure sign of that. |

At no point did Jerry West have to deal with they type of league and CBA changes Mitch and Jim had to deal with.
The drafts back then were generally deeper because players stayed longer in college it was easier to evaluate their talent. |

Amen brother! This team wasn't even together one season before they start the dismantling. I just hope there's another jewel to be had at 27. That pick isn't even good trade bait. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant |

Well, hopefully we can be competitive pretty soon then. But i'm sure "patience" will be trotted out when the team predictably flounders for the next few seasons before finally finding thier way. _________________ *sighs*
