After the lottery gods shone their light on us, I take back what I said on Ennis and restore Dwight, Nash and Greg Foster as the rightful top 3 most hated Lakers of all time. |

At least he tried on defense, no wonder the team started winning.

If no one else offers him a better deal than what we can offer, he could be back, we are going to need a backup PG , and if not him, then some other cheap veteran is the option. _________________ LAKERS 2019-2020: NBA World Champions! |

I think Ennis is all in on Luke's system and he knows Luke will play him.
I think he takes what the Lakers offer and I dont think or at least I hope no other team reaches out to him and offers a multi year deal. |

Hmmm...can they give him a 1+1 at $5.4M with a player option and then re-sign him with Early Bird rights in 2018? |

Yeah. I don't see Tyler Ennis commanding a large salary. I do see him being a pretty solid piece off the bench. I actually think Tyler Ennis is the ideal back-up point guard for this team. He's a ball-mover. Plays unselfish and shoots a decent clip from 3 point. Throw in a full training camp? For a back-up point guard I'm not sure who's attainable that would be better.
I'm pretty bummed out that Nick Young is all but opting out and leaving though. I still think he could be an important part to this team.
The bench is solid pending we retain Ennis though. Ennis, Clarkson, Deng / Brewer, Nance and Robinson/Zubac. |

It's OK if NY opts out. We have to develop the young guys anyway. Just like Lou, I think that he was taking up too many minutes.
And I also think that Ennis can be our long term back up PG. The kid is only 22, it is not like he is maxed out, he still have a lot of room to get better.
He was just on a series of teams where he could not get consistent playing time. He plays the game the right way, he gets on it on D, hits his open shots and moves the ball. _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss |

I like Ennis. But we already have a $12M backup guard.
I think $1.3M Nwaba makes the team over $3+M Ennis. |

The team needs a fifth guard in case of injury, and unless they draft one, $3M for an emergency backup of Ennis' caliber is solid value. |

I like how Ennis showed very good pg skills when given playing time. He was an under control pg that worked well in Luke's system getting the offense going and moving the ball. In fact I believe the offense looked smooth and more fluid when he was running the show than when some of the regulars were in. Not a bad player to have a backup pg. Depending on what he wants I'd welcome him back. |

Yup, we need 5 guards. Ennis won't cost $3mil. _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss |

The Toronto Raptors hosted six players for their pre-draft workouts including Dylan Ennis (Tyler Ennis' brother).
Quote: | The group is headlined by Oregon point guard Dylan Ennis, a Brampton, ON native and older brother of the NBA’s Tyler Ennis. The elder Ennis was a five-year senior who found a starring role on the Ducks after transferring from Villanova and was instrumental in their recent Final Four run. |

Good point. So will he take possibly less to stay?
Fact that he's practicing with the team seems like a good sign. |

I'd like to see Nwaba back and I like Ennis too. You figure we are drafting Ball; do we part with either Russell or Clarkson? If either is traded, that makes the likelihood of either of the bench guys staying. We might just stand pat in the backcourt and everybody will be back. _________________ LAKERS 2019-2020: NBA World Champions! |

I doubt we part with Russell, and can only see us parting with Clarkson if it's for PG.
I think Ennis stays, but I think Young leaves as he stands to make more money elsewhere.
Lonzo / Russell / Clarkson / Ennis / Nwaba is my expected rotation for next year at the guard positions. |

I like that rotation but all of those guys are 25 or under so it might be a good idea to bring in a veteran such as Livingston or Collison to help mentor those guys. |

Ennis will be cheap and that $12M backup could be an important piece in a trade. He's a better fit in our system than JC anyway. |
