Thanks for giving us something to cheer for at the end of the 2016-17 season. Some were crying that you were killing our tank chances, but we still got the #2 pick. So it's all good.

Good luck in your future endeavors.

The $1.5M Tyler Ennis contract would have been guaranteed had the guard been on the roster past July 5. The Lakers now must decide by June 30 on the $1.5M contract of Ivica Zubac and by July 5 (8PM ET) for the $1.4M Thomas Bryant salary.

Thanks for some fun games at the end of the 16-17 season, our last "tanking" season! Best of Luck Tyler..

Teams can start talking to FA's July 1st if I remember correctly
Lakers are probably trying to give him as much airtime as possible to get another gig - not telling Tyler until the 5th (end of day) basically costs him 5 days.

Kind of funny... the episode of backstage Lakers he was on showed him buying a house in LA, and moving his parents out from Canada. Getting all settled in SoCal with the wife and kids.

It’s like dude, I don’t think you’re going to be here long

owning a house in cali is never a bad idea. half the nba lives here during off season

Yeah, maybe his parents are going to live in it when he moves, and it’s an investment property.

Either way, best of luck to the guy

Good Luck Tyler. He always looked like he was trying hard and cared, he just didn’t have enough in the tool bag to be a useful player to us. I fear this might be the last we see of him in the league....safe travels T.

someone else pointed out that if this Denver trade goes down, the Lakers would need a roster spot. So, that's a possibility too

either way, it didn't really matter - Ennis wasn't gonna be on the team this year regardless. Letting him know before FA starts was the right thing to do

Right. As the first reason you put up, while nice and everything, doesn't really apply to him. Players of his rank are simply far from being first, second or third dominoes...

I would waive Zu at this point, we have a lot on the line and need max flexibility.

It was a good run, Tyler. There's solid money to be had overseas.

Why did they wait this long? Of all the possible personnel moves, it was the biggest no-brainer.
