He constantly surprises me how strong he is. He's a short SG that can guard many SF's.

Get him with Kobe, and put him in the JRose 10k/day program.

That is why he reminds be a bit of Justise Winslow, a guard version of him. I think he could do quite well guarding most 3's in the league even at his size.

If he can make his corner threes and free throws, he could become a rotation player for us.

David Nwaba will be assigned to the L.A. D-Fenders during their D-League playoff run

Quote:
Lakers rookie David Nwaba will be assigned to the L.A. D-Fenders to boost their D-League playoff run (source: Mark Medina, L.A. Daily News). Nwaba has been a pleasant surprise in Luke Walton‘s rotation, averaging 7.8 points with 5.5 rebounds over his last four games. Nwaba, who appeared in 40 games for the D-Fenders this season, figures to receive a considerable workload during the D-League postseason.

My initial concern was if he could shoot? This kid is a real find. He's like a bonus second round pick level talent before the draft has even taken place. Excellent find by the Laker staff.

Had his career high and led the Lakers in scoring tonight. Luke is starting to trust him down the stretch. He's been a godsend defensively. This time it was against a playoff team. A choking playoff team, but still a playoff team.

The Clippers had just dribbled their shot clock out....so Nwaba would've looked bad shooting after that.

That's how talented players become stars... By playing with the same hustle less talented players tend to play with. I really hope they're gonna get it.

he actually hit a jumper today. If he learns to shoot, he will be a very solid player. He has elite athleticism.

We have to start him. With him and Ingram on the wing, our defense is much better.

Zubac, Black
Randle, Nance
Ingram, JJ/Tatum
Nwaba, Clarkson
Russell, Ennis

If we trade Russell and the top 3 pick plus Deng's contract for Westbrook, and Ingram for PG, it would become:

Zubac, Black
Randle, Nance
George, Brewer
Nwaba, Clarkson
Westbrook, Ennis

His jumper isn't broken by any means either. Although there's something off about his stroke and I'm not sure what.

Nwaba has been very legit, it's almost unheard of a d-league player who's called and is so effective from the field while playing in the perimeter, shooting 57% with 0.4 turnovers and 3.2 rebounds on 18.8 minutes with good defense?

I'll take that everyday

Very nice to see him hit a couple of outside jumpers yesterday, good signs

His form is solid but he needs more arc on his shot.
