The Lakers' David Nwaba could potentially find himself playing games on eight consecutive days as he suits up for the NBA team and its D-League affiliate, the D-Fenders, who are in the playoffs.

Essentially.. you can replace Anthony Brown with the 2nd round pick and put David Nwaba as the guy we picked with the 2nd round pick.. hes already a better prospect then Brown and you act like we never picked Brown.. so we now picked Nwaba with the 34th pick.

Good call. It takes away a bit of the sting of passing on Powell.

Yup, Nwaba and Ennis are like extra draft picks. Good moves by the FO. _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss

Interesting tidbit on salaries, 2017-18 Nwamba makes 1.3 million, about as much as Nance that year. In 2018-19 Nwamba makes $1.7 million a year, 200k more than we will pay Zubac .... So Nwamba has reason to show he is worth the salary the next couple of years. _________________ LAKERS 2019-2020: NBA World Champions!
People giving credits to Pelinka, Mitch, Magic, Jimbo... let's not forget the real hero: Nick Mazzella. He's the one who got his eyes on Nwaba during a tryout and dealt in the draft day for his rights, as Reno had them. _________________ ....

yeah, I saw that a week or so ago.
they totally are overpaying Nwaba compared to Nance & Zu - who have both proven to be much better players
fortunately, overpaying Nwaba is only a matter of a couple hundred thousand rather than the millions we're overpaying MozDeng _________________ LBJ + AD = More rings

As long Nwamba doesn't go all Smush Parker on us, I think he will do the right thing, knowing he has to work hard on his offensive game and stay humble. I think he will be alright. Nance also needs that consistent shooting range, it will be very interesting to see what he re-signs for when the time comes, I could see another team willing to outbid us. Zubac needs to gain the weight and improve his defense, but I have no doubt he will do the work to improve. probably the three guys on the roster most likely to do the hard offseason work. _________________ LAKERS 2019-2020: NBA World Champions!

Better D then Smush ever had.....honestly i dont see Nwaba doing anything but get better.
Lakers’ David Nwaba and the D-Fenders fall in the first round of the D-League playoffs
Recapping an eventful week for Los Angeles’ minor league team.
Quote:
The loss ended the D-Fenders’ final season (more on their name change below) on a sour note, despite another strong regular season which saw Los Angeles finish with the second-best record in the history of their franchise, and in a tie for the best record in the Western Conference.
As Nwaba’s emergence shows, though, the Lakers’ D-League affiliate remains worth paying attention to as a valuable part of the organization moving forward.

Where is this info from? I though Nwaba had a team option next year and was a free agent after that?

I think Nance and those guys are actually getting paid more, but only count against the cap with the numbers you see. i am pretty sure the recent CBA scaled up guys currently on rookie contracts, but their cap hit remained the same.

SOLID performance tonight.
14 points (6-8 FGs), 2 rbs, 1 steal, good defense.
He will work hard to get better over the summer and prove that he belongs
Oh my... if he gains a shot, he has a long career in the NBA
Even if he never gets that shot, he will have a place on this team. He and Brewer really gave this team a defensive identity. Throw Nance into the mix and we actually have a team that can beat teams on the defensive side of the ball. We got Taco's last night! In know it was against a bad team, but hell bad teams were destroying us in the middle of the season.
Nwaba is a rookie so I am assuming he can work on his shot and it will improve. Love this kid, I hope he is a Laker for a long time. _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss
