wait... I thought Brian Shaw sold Luke on Mozgov. Luke didn't have time to do much of anything before he got to the Lakers as GS had just finished up it's season.
Jun 19, 2016, ...lost Game 7 of the NBA Finals on Sunday...
Jun 20, 2016, Walton drove down from Oakland on Monday and immediately got to work.
Jun 21, 2016, The Lakers formally introduced the 36-year-old Walton on Tuesday.
June 23, 2016, Draft
midnight, July 1, Mitch and Luke call Mozgov
Lakers assistant coach Brian Shaw is even more familiar with Mozgov than Walton is, having coached him for a season and a half in Denver. In fact, it was Shaw who first promoted Mozgov to a starting role, and his eventual success there led to Cleveland trading two first rounds picks to acquire him. If anyone knows the positive impact that Mozgov can have on a team, it’s Shaw. |

So much disrespect for Mitch This man was the best GM in the league for a long stretch of time and brought us rings. |
I agree.. he made 2 deals that had the NBA in a frenzy.. Pau trade and almost CP3. |
And after the CP3 trade was nixxed the very next off-season landed Nash and Dwight Howard.
People bash it, but no one could forsee Lillard breaking Nash's leg. If that doesn't happen we may not be having this discussion. |
The DH deal was good and fine. Actually that was a great deal if you consider that Bynum never really played again. |
Except that, for Bynum, they could have gotten almost anybody in the league at that point in time, and they chose a player who had made it clear by then that he had little interest in playing for the Lakers. In fact, he was actively trying to maneuver his way to the Nets. |

Absolutely this. There was so much disconnect between ownership, management, and coaching that it was amazing that anyone could see through the (bleep) that was. I mean, the whole Jeanie/Jim bashing back and forth obviously wears on the organization, and thankfully that era appears to be over. And we have a new management in place that appears to be backed by ownership. And a coach that obviously everyone is high on. _________________

This is also what I think. There has been soooo much BS surrounding this team.
I also think that the media has done their best to make it worse. Like the recent Heisler article that is completely setting Jeannie up.
Somewhere along this ride, everyone needs to be aware that people are trying to make money off the Lakers failing. Click baiting us to death.
Having that dynamic going on while our FO basically hated each other was a sure fire way for us to fail and give our detractors so many obvious ways to denigrate us. It was no wonder that no FA's liked what they saw!! Who would?? Nobody wants to work for a company in total turmoil. _________________ Never argue with stupid people! Luke and Pelinka should be the only two guys allowed to give interviews on the state of the Lakers. _________________ Austin Reaves

You didn't miss much. Honestly he didn't say a lot of actual details. He's just a great diplomat and easy to talk to. Accessible. _________________ Austin Reaves

Talked a lot without saying much. Very Kupchakian.
You and I have similar irritations on this front and I think you would've been happy with this interview. |

Thanks guys. Definitely wish they'd let Rob do the talking. On the bright side GT I'm pretty sure you can get Jeanie Buss on the podcast. _________________ 14-5-3-12 |

As a thought exercise, I'd be very interested in what questions you would actually ask. _________________ Austin Reaves keeps his game tight, like Kobe Bryant on game night. |

Serena Winters @SerenaWinters
Lakers GM Rob Pelinka on @ESPNLosAngeles with @VeniceMase & @LAIreland talking about Lakers, quotes to follow from their interview...
Serena Winters @SerenaWinters
Lakers GM Rob Pelinka says getting "a quality big, a quality 5 center,” that fits into today’s game is “definitely" something "a priority."
Serena Winters @SerenaWinters
Rob Pelinka called Ivica Zubac "a very, very promising player” & "someone we consider to be one of the pillars of the future.” (on ESPNLA)
Serena Winters @SerenaWinters
Serena Winters Retweeted Serena Winters
Rob Pelinka also gave props to Timofey Mozgov, said he’s a great center w/ championship experience.
Serena Winters @SerenaWinters
To sum up LAL big talk, Pelinka said they’ve got good guys at that position, but will improve roster as opportunities present themselves.
Serena Winters @SerenaWinters
Rob Pelinka talking Jordan Clarkson, said down the stretch was "one of our best.” Praised his “attack mode” mentality.
(on @ESPNLosAngeles)
Serena Winters @SerenaWinters

Serena Winters @SerenaWinters
1: Pelinka (on ESPNLA) was asked whether it’s more about overall talent or fit when drafting players, said it’s both & also something else…
Serena Winters @SerenaWinters
2: Rob: "I think going forward we’re going to really put a lot of weight into the character of a player. What kind of person is he?”
Serena Winters @SerenaWinters

Serena Winters @SerenaWinters
4: Rob: "It takes a unique leader, a unique young person to thrive in this city.”
(via interview w/ @VeniceMase & @LAIreland on ESPNLA)
Serena Winters @SerenaWinters
That was a neat interview Rob Pelinka did w/ @VeniceMase & @LAIreland. Rob called up @ESPNLosAngeles & started taking questions from fans

Rob Pelinka: "Thanks to all the fans who are listening, your opinions & your voice deeply matters, we’re going to get this thing right."
Serena Winters @SerenaWinters
One more thing I learned from that interview, Rob Pelinka went cage diving with Great White Sharks in Guadalupe with Kobe Bryant _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:
