Can and will they actually give it to a guy who only played 31 games?

If not, who gets it?

Ingram has certainly played the most minutes and has been steadily improving his FG%.

Ingram- 8.5 PPG, 4.1 RPG 2 APG

Brown- 6.6 PPG, 45% FG

Chriss- 8.1 PPG, 3.7 RPG

Hield- 9.3 PPG 39% from 3

Murray- 9.1 PPG 40% FG

A pretty underwhelming draft class so far to say the least. Did I leave anyone out?

Adding in Saric- (thanks Logo!) he is 22, but he is a rookie.

than this means Ben Simmons when he gets healthy will be the star of the draft class which means we chose the wrong player

How can we have chosen the wrong player if he was not available for us to choose?

Saric it is:

12.2 PPG with 6.3 RPG and 2.2 apg

We have a winner!

How crazy is it that had Simmons been healthy this season, the 76ers would have had the top 3 Rookie of the Year candidates?

Saric is the weakest Rookie of the Year in recent memory. This last draft class was terrible (and Saric wasn't even in it).

No one really deserves the award this year.

Id vote for Embiid because although he's only played 31 games, he's head and shoulders better than anyone else.

There's also Saric whose the only other rookie averaging double digit points.

Ingram doesn't have a shot; not sure if he'll even made the all-rookie 1st team.

Agreed.

I still think that BI will be something special, but that time is not right now.

He might --- class is pretty horrid this year.

I think it should go to either Saric or Embiid. Personally, I'd reward the player that was able to stay on the floor, although I think Embiid was vastly superior in those 31 games.

It will probably go to either Saric or Embiid. I have a feeling Saric will win it if he finishes out the season strong. His teammate Embiid is already campaigning for him.

They should give it to Embiid simply because no one else has earned it.

Embiid should be a unanimous pick. Even playing 31 games he probably still places near the top in all of the rookie categories.

Embiid should win simply because no one else deserves it. But I'd like to throw Zubac into the top 10 for ROY this year (maybe even top 5).

I think there should minimum number of games to qualify for the award and he certainly has not met it.

I think if you add in minutes played for each of them it might change how we rate the players on that list a bit. Obviously Ingram has played a ton of minutes.

Too bad Zubac didn't get regular minutes from the start. He probably would get the nod if Embiid doesn't.
