Does having the #1 or #2 Pick make any difference?

Lavar Ball vs Magic ego fest should be interesting to watch.

From what I've seen of Fultz's defense - let's just say if you thought Russell/Clarkson was bad...

Of course I'm sure the franchise would then try their hardest to turn him into Gary Payton.

I think when we draft this year we will have the blueprint to intice a superstar like Paul George, our superstar drought has to end sometime, why not now

Ball
Russell
George
Randle
Mozgov

that's 45 wins I'm guestimating if they stay healthy

Lonzo Ball checks out in every way imaginable. If the Celtics get the #1 pick, I hope they take Fultz. I'd like us to get the #1 pick tho, that way we won't have to hold our breath that the Celtics won't screw us over again like they did when they took Smart before we could.

What ego? This?

During the interview, Ball also said he is prepared to package Lonzo and his two other sons — LiAngelo, a high school senior who has signed with UCLA, and LaMelo, a high school sophomore who has committed to UCLA — for a marketing deal with Nike, Adidas or Under Armour. “A billion dollars, it has to be there,” Ball said. “That’s our number, a billion, straight out of the gate. And you don’t even have to give it to me all up front. Give us $100 mil over 10 years.” – via USA Today Sports

If you thought LaVar Ball sounded outrageous when he said his son Lonzo, a freshman point guard at UCLA, is better than Steph Curry, well, you haven’t heard anything yet. “Back in my heyday, I would kill Michael Jordan one-on-one,’’ said Ball, the 49-year-old basketball dad who is 6-6 and 270 pounds and has a mouth to match his size.

Because the chances are that we won't stay long. Also Indy will target the pick first.

I think Russ can play SG. It's more likely we ship out Clarkson.

I wanted Smart too. But I want Fultz over Ball. If we draft 2nd I hope we take Jackson.

I don't think so.

Maybe if we draft Ball? I think Fultz/Russ are a good backcourt with DLO at the 2.

Ball looks like a disaster waiting to happen. After hearing the guy's dad talk, I'd be very careful before I'd pick him.

His dad isn't the one shooting or passing the ball, so I don't care what the old man says. I'm more concerned about Jackson's multiple run ins with the law tbh.

If Lonzo Ball is available, you draft Lonzo Ball. He does everything better than Fultz minus scoring.

Let's see, KAT vs Dlo. Simmons vs Ingram. You decide

That pretty much sums it up right there. Ingram and Russell we're essentially the obvious picks at #2, but Imagine if we had a young front court of Simmons and KAT Just one of those guys (definitely KAT at the moment) might be worth more than our entire young core put together.

Yeah, but Lonzo is in a better program, and I think that contributes to his success as well. If Murray and Chriss stay at Washington, I think Fultz would have been even better and Washington might be the favorites to win the tournament?

I agree I see him as more of a SG anyways. I'd rather have somebody quicker like Lonzo as the primary ball handler

At this point, I just hope we land in the top 3 and keep the pick. I rather it be in the top 2. Once that happens, I'll think about who is the better pick for us. It would suck to be enamored with a couple of players only to lose the pick.

Rumor on the east coast is that Danny Ainge has a serious man crush on Ball.

as you can see here, historically, if you're trying to draft an all star, you want to be picking 1st or 3rd. Picking 2nd is a bit of a trap.
