The moment I saw the picture of that statue, I imagined birds nesting in those pants. _________________ .

1,200-pound statue hanging off the side of what I'm assuming as a non-structural member. Though it could be a beam but I'm not sure. Either way, make it bigger and you can have a collapse easily. At least it's close to a column. |
but wouldn't that be so fitting for a Shaq statue to tear down the side of a building? _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant |

Shaq's rivalries continue to soften over time after statue unveiling
Quote: | We received this lesson in temporal qualities (in addition to an unexpected history of statues) at the unveiling of Shaquille O'Neal's dunking likeness at Staples Center on Friday, an affair that had Shaq and Kobe Bryant sharing the stage and exchanging compliments, a ceremony that officially fused the once-wayward center to the Los Angeles Lakers. |

Shaquille O’Neal Speaks On Clippers Covering Up Lakers Banners
Quote: | “Speaking of Clippers, I don’t like the fact that when you guys have your home games, you cover up the jerseys. Until you win 16 championships, then you can start changing the rule. Don’t cover up my jersey. This is [Lakers] building. Don’t forget that s***. Y’all just leasing it. That’s our building.” |

Watched some clips on youtube. Great seeing so many former Lakers together. Even SLAVA! Some thoughts:
-not sure if Shaq acknowledged Phil. An omission was accidentally, I'm sure.
-Shaq spent quite a bit of time talking about the summer of 96. He sure loves money. If Orlando had offered one dollar more...glad things worked out the way they did.
-While they have buried the hatchet, I still feel a bit of tension between Shaq and Kobe. Maybe I'm reading too much into things like mannerisms and facial expressions.
-A Worthy statue would have to be his going up for the signature fast break finishing slaaaaaammmm dunk. _________________ Smrek 2, Nevitt 1, Barkley 0 |

Unmentioned: Kareem's King Kong reference. That simply floated totally off the radar. Imagine if a white person had said that...? _________________ Smrek 2, Nevitt 1, Barkley 0 |

For the record 2001 would beat the Warriors in a 7. Are you kidding me? Shaq would average 40 pts alone. And that's with only making 50% of his fts. |

Can't wait to get a chance to see the statue first hand. The thought of it crashing down is a bit unnerving, but the odds of that happening are similar to all the electronic and technical equipment coming down when watching a game inside. Not gonna happen. _________________ Smrek 2, Nevitt 1, Barkley 0 |

Imagine Zaza or Tristan Thompson guarding Shaq
I imagine the Warriors would take advantage of Shaq/Fisher on pick and roll. Might stretch the series. But Lakers would straight up murder the Cavs. |

know it's a shaq thread and i agree with what's said.
but the biggest deal would be kobe (in his prime), with 2 good hands and getting calls on the first foul.
kobe used to get fouled 3-4 times on the way to the hoop repeatedly. _________________ KOBE!!! |
