Kyrie eviscerated him.

He actually did a better job against Lebron than Kyrie. But we're putting pretty high expectations on a rookie with ten games under his belt - so much of man defense against a hyper-skilled scorer like Kyrie is in-game experience and hours breaking down game film.
Yeah but LeBron's game was so weird. He would get to the rim and pass it out instead of shoot the layup. I thought he did a better job on LeBron but still not a great one.

Which is fine -- these are 2 of the best offensive players in the league. But I don't think he's a lockdown defender, which is concerning giving his significant offensive limitations.

I like this deal though just for practice reasons.

No doubt, and what defensive impact he's having is juiced a bit by his awesome block rate, which 1) may not be sustainable and/or 2) may get him in trouble fouling jumpshooters.

Nonetheless, he has more defensive upside than any guard on the roster (sadly) and we can always comfort ourselves with outliers like Bruce Bowen while watching Nwaba's development.

I actually like him quite a bit, but I will note your skepticism in the con column when analyzing his performance going forward.

I saw a stat that our dRTG was like 14 points better with him on the court than off

I like this. I was hoping that they'd give him a hometown deal.

But aside from all the good story stuff, the business reason for this deal is having him defend Clarkson and DLo in practice. He's a great defender with a solid defense IQ. I like that he doesn't make too many mistakes when it comes to his guy cutting to the basket or taking him off the dribble. Long arms and good vertical also helps him bother shots.

Even if it doesn't translate to him seeing significant time on the court, I like that he'll be giving DLO and Clarkson fits in practice. And they'll be improving for actual game minutes.

Pelinka and Magic making smart moves.

Can he be what we wanted Anthony Brown to be? ( 3 and D )

I'd be ecstatic if he could shoot as "well" as even AB

I think he's got that part down(minus the deer in the headlights look).

Man, AB shoots 28% from 3. Nwaba refuses to (bleep) shoot at all. Huge difference, as much as AB sucked.

Honestly Id rather him not shoot then to throw up bricks like AB was doing.

shot same % as Ingram during rookie year.

AB flat out sucks. He was a deer in the headlights 90% of the time he was on the court. He was also like 23 years old

shooting 47% from 3 in DLeague and shot same % from 3 as Ingram during rookie year......those are just facts.......he "flat out sucks" and your fictional "90%" number are not

AB unquestionably sucks.

Maybe Nwaba turns into a Selfolosha type with more athleticism.

Brown had 10-day contracts from Orlando and Nola this season and they didn't keep him. Let him be happy in D-League.

He needs to learn the Bowen offense. Corner 3 nothing else. Learn that shot.

Good for him. He plays backcourt D, which is something that we sorely lack...and he's athletic and fun to watch.

Great #3 PG to have on the roster, definitely an upgrade from what we've been rolling with the last few years...Huertas. Definitely hope swaggy opts out and we end up with a

Ball/Dlo/Jc/Brewer/Nwaba backcourt.

3 out of those 5 guys are good defenders and the other two (DLO, JC) are excellent on offense. This hopefully is the first step to us becoming at least an average defensive team. Good job Rob/Magic.

He's going to need to hit that corner 3 in order to stick in the league.

dont get why you guys post these elementary lazy comments....do you not understand that 47% from 3 while being in the top 10 in attempts per game is far from sucking....claiming he "sucks"is pointless and adds nothing to the conversation.
