"Do we feel like we're a championship-level team right now? No. But we have 32 games left to get there, and that's the way we have to think. We'll let everyone stay opinionated and have their assumptions about who's going to win and who's the favorite, and we'll see come playoff time who's right."

With the Heat having only 4 to 6 less losses than the Lakers and with their 1-11 record against the "best" teams in the NBA - their entire team appears to be coasting since they can't/won't catch the Pistons and there is no threat of the Heat losting the #2 position, they apparently (read: Shaq) that they can turn it on during the playoffs - despite having the Task Master is the form of Riles. Most people will say this is better than a team (i.e. Lakers) where they are utilizing the season to shape a team to be cause damage during the playoffs.

I don't think that this (taking the regular season haphazardly and nonchalantly) will fly in L.A. where they expect at leat 90% effort at games where fans pay HIGH prices.

So which is the worst of 2 evils?!?!?!
