I don't think they should give statues out like candy but I believe Phil deserves one. He coached the Lakers to five championships and all of them were at Staples Center. Also most consider him the greatest NBA coach of all time. For those reasons I think he deserves one. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold.

I would think Pat would have one out there before Phil, and I don't think either needs one out there. _________________ "It's just a job. Grass grows, birds fly, waves pound the sand. I beat people up."-The Greatest
I think legendary coaches deserve to have a statue. Especially ones that won multiple championships. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold.

Gary Vitti should get a statue. 32 freaking years!
Andrew Bynum should get a statue, because how shiny will it look in ten years? And he was almost as good as Vlade Divac, who of course will also have to have a statue...

I'd be fine if they gave him one, but I wouldn't have any strong emotional response to them giving him a statue and I don't care if they don't.
My guess is that would be the typical response to a Phil statue: whatever.
