Some of you may already have these feelings but Lonzo, hook or crook ...will be a Los Angeles Laker next season for the following reasons:

Magic Johnson
- Magic was brought in to get Lakers into contention as quick as possible. That involves signing free agents, making trades for superstars and bringing excitement to Los Angeles. He also comes across as a gambler and would seem like the type to do a crazy deal. He's also heard SOME in the media compare Lonzo to himself.

Hometown Kid
- Lonzo is a hometown kid with hype and his favorite team is Lakers. He's openly said he wants to play for Lakers. Went to UCLA. Perfect Match.

Point Guard
D Russell has been underwhelming at times. Still very young and has not hit prime yet, however, I think Lakers fans would make this swap off hype and potential any day.

Father Promotion/Lakers Brand
Lavar Ball has been on every tv and radio show promoting his boys. They have a reality tv show in the mix. This fits into the whole promotion aspect of the Lakers brand (great Jerry Buss), and would be a perfect fit and story.

Style of Play
Lonzo is a pure PG and quick with the ball in his hands. People will be saying "showtime" Lakers :rolleyes: but historically he fits the Lakers style of play and todays modern fast pace game.

Fan Pressure
In general, Lakers fans EXPECT championships and moves to be made. The past 3-4 years have been depressing for most with the Clippers generating most of the headlines and playoff appearances. The pressure is ON. This move appeases fans, gets them excited and hopeful again.

What is "the house"?

Deangelo + pick + player (maybe Randle/Clarkson) + or future pick

That should get a deal done.

Well Jeanie did say she would be "heartbroken" if the lakers don't have an all-star representative with the game being in LA next season.

So unless she expects DLO to completely break out, get ready for some dumbass trades involving DLO/BI/Top 3 pick.

I completely agree. I don't think they're married to anyone on the roster and would trade into the top 3 if they had a chance. Depending on what teams get the top picks and who is still on the board, they may get the opportunity.
