Sitting down to watch IT now with my 12 year old daughter.
Gonna traumatize her like my parents did to me as a youth. Its tradition.
Lol

I read IT as a 13 year old. Yes, all somewhere around 1200 pages worth of IT. That was back in 1980-something. I wasn't ready. No one told me. For the 2 weeks during my read and about 2 weeks after...I didn't sleep until sunrise. I slept with my lights on. I took naps whenever I could. Pennywise completely hijacked my life. Almost 30 years later, I'm still scarred by the experience. Stephen King is a brilliant, but deeply disturbed man. I haven't read any of his books, or watched any of his movie adaptations since.

The kids portion of the mini-series was excellent. I feel like this movie moved too fast... there wasn't much "down time". I'm hopeful part 2 shows some flashbacks and more of the kids experiences and friendship.

Loved Pennywise in this. Wished he had a few more scenes and more speaking parts. The Georgie/ sewer scene was perfect. He goes from playful to creepy in an instant... it's great.

8/10 for me.

I just rewatched the miniseries on Spike TV a few days ago and really wanted to see the new one.

Pennywise was actually very convincing and creepy. There was some lightheartedness especially toward the end that sorta adopted a goonies/super 8/stranger things kinda vibe. And honestly, I'm not so sure that I liked that. But the film is really well made and the child actors were all very good. It actually sucks that they will be replaced for part 2.

I had to sit in the very front row with my neck notched up, but I still managed to enjoy myself

From what I've read, the kids will return for the sequel. Scenes will flashback to them as the adults recall their old memories of Derry. I'm hoping this helps flesh things out more. I still feel like things were rushed and there weren't enough character building moments or scenes with PW.

Such a disappointment. It flat out sucked as a movie let alone trying to compare it to the book.

Modern horror films are long on creepy window dressing and short on character and genuine scares. This movie is no exception.

I liked a few of the characters... Others were notvas fleshed out.
Disappointed PW didn't get more screen time. Too much CGI
