Unfortunately, this could happen anywhere, not just a school. As much as we want to protect our children, you can't protect them from being in the wrong place at the wrong time. We have almost one gun for every man, woman and child in this country. We relaxed the laws on mentally ill and domestic abusers purchasing guns. We cut funding for behavioral health and protections for women from their abusers. This is not a recipe for safety or peace of mind.

This is why the wife and I are extremely hesitant to enroll our kids into a public school or, any school.

So home school? What about home invasions?

Let's not go there.

We truly are going to have to care for one another in a much more compassionate way or this is going to continue. How he kept that much rage hidden and unchecked by anyone is something humans need to detect within each other before these things happen

Bad enough to do this horrific act, but why involve the kids the school?

My hearts go out to the families and friends, absolutely brutal.

To make it more scary and tragic, that rate is bound to rise now that Trump has removed mental health restrictions to gun purchases.

'Merica! The country that cares more about its guns than it does its citizens . . .

8 years old...

When I was 8 years old I was playing with He-man action figures and waking up early weekend mornings to play NES.

Awful world we live in.
