New Orleans could be one option.....

Would be fitting. CP3 throwing alley oops to AD back home, and Clips left with nothing. Sounds good.

I could see CP3 trying to join his own superteam....he looks legitimately frustrated after this loss....getting max dollars at this point in his career is probably not his main concern considering he hasn't gotten out of the 2nd round. Clippers fans be scared this summer....

When their offense is clicking they're utterly jawdropping.

Just to make things interesting.. Melo and CP3 are good friends so the Melo situation might make the CP3 domino fall.

There's been super teams before. But not one with two players that account for 3 of the last 4 NBA MVP's (and who are both top 20 GOAT's), a perennial DPOY candidate, and a guy who's arguably the 2nd greatest shooter ever (2nd only to his own backcourt mate), all of whom are in their absolute primes. AND their roster is full of high quality role players. Oh, and they move the ball better than any other team in the league.
It's (bleep) insane.

So Melo leaves to come to LA? I suspect it probably won't be CP3 going to NY since Phil and Melo aren't exactly getting along....

Only series where the Warriors might face some decent opposition this years playoffs will be vs the Spurs and Cavs.....but I think the Warriors will be huge favorites just because of their overall collection of talent.

Clippers gon Clip

If you guys want to have some fun, offer any Clipper fan a bet to see who wins a title first, Lakers or Clippers. For some reason, they'll never ever do it.

Clippers are going back to the basement next season. What a waste of CP3's career. Nice one, stern

The look on Ballmer's face at the end was priceless.

I'm really looking forward to Spurs/Warriors. Hopefully SAS can actually get there this year

I thought CP3 could bolt for San Antonio, but I forgot about the supermax/DPE thing. Is he really going to leave $70MM on the table? It's one thing to leave when it's just the normal difference (the 1 less year and the 3% less in annual raises), but when it's the DPE?

We've seen athletes give up a lot of money for one season before (David West), though it's rare. I'm not sure we've ever seen an athlete give up that much money.

Chris Paul is the second best PG of all-time. He's past his prime yet still having tremendous impact.

It's really a shame that he never got a decent supporting cast. Blake Griffin is not a legitimate sidekick.

I could see Blake bolting and Melo getting traded to the clips. CP3 resigns and rolls with Melo, Deandre and Doc.

Not sure if Paul is going to pass up that money. Lebron and Paul made sure the new cba was set up so they could get longer contracts and more money in their later mid to later 30's iirc.

Exhibit A on why KD left....

Westbrook is so overrated. I don't care how many triple doubles you chase down, if you can't shoot, you're not really a threat. People say he got tired. I say it was just the law of averages for him. The dude shoots 42%. So going into the 4th, he was due for his usual bricks. He was chirping at Beverley about have 42, but PB was right.. how man shots did you take to get it?

Westbrook would be an awesome Robin if he never took a jumpshot. If he just boarded and assisted, and only drove for 2 pt buckets, he would be a perfect Robin to a real efficient scorer, somewhat like KD.

Chris Paul made his own fate
Back in december 2011,he could have said/done things to force his way to Lakers, but he did/say nothing
Then,as a FA,he could have chosen to change side of the Staples, but again,he didn't bolt
Enjoy it,Chris

Hmmmm my guess is Nick. Possibly T-Rob.

But we know for damn sure that someone on the 2016-17 Lakers roster will end up on the 2017-18 Clippers roster
