rob tells too much of the laker's plan, in my opinion.

I don't recall hearing any specifics. What stuck out?

i'm not talking about trades, free agency, draft, but he talked about putting in place a wellness coordinator and what it entails. he talked about enrichment program from the titans of business, etc... him and magic were doing a lot of talking of what they wanna do in their introduction. magic went on a media tour talking about his plan of what he wanted to do. these 2 just talk too much.

Ah, I see. Those items didn't bother me. From his background as an agent, I think he's modernizing our pitch/recruiting which was behind the times. To me that's not giving away strategy. That's stuff we'll hear over and over along with our new facility as we change the narrative about the org.

The wellness issue I think is us actually playing catch up with some of the more progressive teams. The Titans thing is giving free agents something that you can't get in smaller markets...again this is changing the narrative about the org. I've got no issues with Pelinka doing a ton of that. He seems pretty calculated in what he's saying.

Magic, however, does make me nervous.

Magic to me is that guy that says the right things to calm the pessimists, Pelinka is the guy that brings more thought and perspectives... Honestly to me Mitch was a good GM but he was to calm and had no passion, sometimes FAs wanna feel that positive personality and Magic and Pelinka will provide that.

There is nothing wrong with being open-minded, maybe that was our major straw with FAs in recent years, we didn't have anyone bringing that ultimate talk to close the deal.

yeah, i don't understand how talking about wellness, excellence and how being Lakers makes your brand grown is a setback to our organization as a whole

nervous about magic? don't be. he has been pretty calculated since he took his job. told MWP on his face, we are not up for charity and we won't bring him back. i love MWP but that was good for lakers

I'm feeling pretty optimistic. Lakers seem like they have a pretty clear vision going forward. Top 3 pick or not -- I think the Lakers are moving in the right direction.

One of the popular things around here that said was last off-season was nobody came because Mitch and Jim don't have any charisma or selling ability.

I don't think you could go in any more of an opposite direction from Mitch and Jim than Magic and Pelinka.

watching that Spurs game and listening to them talk about the "spurs way" of taking on talented guys that have not performed at other stops or not got a chance, but are guys that want to be there and blend in makes me hope our FO starts taking that attitude.....and make sure our development program is top notch. Guys like Ennis and TRob fit in that description.

So has there been any reason Deng skipped exit interviews?

I wonder if the Lakers had a under the table conversation with another team .. which can mean that the other team were interested in Deng so the Lakers told Deng to take the time off so they can consummate the trade at some point?

Why would not having Deng do an exit interview help the Lakers get a trade done? I don't understand how it would facilitate a trade.

They had him written on a white board with like 20 other people. That GM is gone anyway.

He had his exit interview before the other players. It wasn't the day where the players were available to the media. It was before then. Pincus reported this.

Not sure why or where he went. Someone on LG wrote that he went overseas early to run one of his organizations. I know he's active with those sort of things, but I don't know if the person was joking or not.

I live in Denver so out of the LA sports media loop. Have found nothing explaining the lack of explanation.

Any news at all about Deng missing the end of the season and exit interviews? Not one reporter asked the question? Not one comment from the team?

Odd that it is not mentioned anywhere.
