If Rian Johnson wasn't directing this, i'd be more excited. Hopefully he's learned some things since Jurassic World.
You're mixing up the directors. Jurassic World was directed by Colin Trevorrow, who is slated to direct Episode 9. I agree that Trevorrow has not made anything special and is not a promising choice to direct the final episode of this trilogy.
But Rian Johnson is a talented director.
Argh, what the heck am I on?
Thanks for the correction. Okay, now I am excited.
Rian Johnson may be the best reason to see this movie. _________________ 14-5-3-12

I was hoping Luke had gone evil. The trailer cuts that possibility out. Eh, I will still watch it even if it follows familiar movie plotlines. _________________ Courage doesn't always roar.

I don't mind if it's a complete reworking of the Empire Strikes Back. That was the ploy for the last one and I still loved it. Plus, being in Indiana, I will go see it in 70mm IMAX. _________________ Not a legend

Got my tickets. Probably not going to watch the trailer though; Rian Johnson says it has spoilers (way to go, whoever made it, smh).
If there are "spoilers", I'm sure they are minor. I had a conversation with a few of my fellow Editors about the new trailer. We're in agreement that the whole thing is a collection misdirects. The meaningful lines in the trailer were all singles, which means they eliminate any connection to whom the lines are actually delivered to. They are cut together to imply that characters are talking to other characters, but that doesn't mean that is actually the case. There are also implications that words and images connect, but the actual connective tissue to connect the dots is obviously not there. And for a reason. They've strung a series of shots together to make the viewer think there's a meaning there, but it's not the true meaning.
Look, there's no way that they'd release a trailer that was full of spoilers and that Johnson would point that out if they weren't intentionally trying to keep people guessing. There's no way they are going to just hack a trailer together that is full of spoilers. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

That was my initial thought and hope. And, now thta you mention it, the fact that Johnson would say most certainly cements the fact that he's misdirecting. The isolated shots make it far easy to imply different meanings or to portray a different meaning to the dialogue because it's out of context. _________________ We back.
