Lou was still relatively young at 30 years of age and would have been a great addition alongside PG13, who is 27 years old (only 3 years younger than Lou). 28th pick is gonna take some years to develop assuming he would be decent. Lou is a sure thing, role player, solid contributing veteran. We're past the point of developing rookies and into the next stage of building a competing team. Lou would be contributing right away. Only reason they traded Lou was as a back up if we lose the top 3.
This way we have someone in the first round.
Overall -- better trade for Houston but not terrible for us as you never know what may come from that pick??? |
