Who knows if kerr would ever be back again. Luke could be coaching that team to a few rings and likely be a lock for the HOF if he didn't leave for a rebuild. |

Probably. Best team in the NBA, maybe a dynasty. |

Think how much more satisfying and gratifying it will be for Luke when he leads the Lakers back to the promised land in a few years (I hope). |

Mike Brown is probably the luckiest coach in history. Gets carried by Lebron then by the Warriors. Might be in the HOF if they carry him to A few rings |

Heh, true as long as he doesn't get fired first, he's got a chance to build something that has his imprint from the start. It would've been nice to inherit a stacked team, but it'll will be that much sweeter if/when he does reach the promised land.
Mike Brown's a legend, two teams are probably still paying his (bleep) contract while he's getting a good seat at the finals. Still gotta play the games tho, lmfao if Tyronne Lue finds a way to repeat. |

Why would he regret it. They're winning now and yes have a few years of prime from these guys, but they're not a team.known to win. They did a good job rebuilding into a powerhouse, but they don't really have very good prospects. Not to me tion it was his dream to coach HIS team, the Lakers. |

Comparing to young GSW, Lakers have nothing short in talents. They built around Curry(#7), Barnes (#7), Thompson(#11), Green(#35). The lakers have already had Russell(#2), Ingram(#2), Randle(#7), Nance(#27), Zubac(#32) and Clarkson(#46), not to mention a potential top 3 pick and #28 this year. I think Lakers give him a better environment to be successful. If Luke couldn't build a team with these young talents, he couldn't be compared to Steve or mentioned as HOF coach. |

If he's about recognition, better for him to succeed in LA. Let's say the Warriors win this year and Kerr doesn't coach in the playoffs, no one will give credit to Brown... |

regret it? Much more fun (and pride) to build your own situation rather than walk into some ready made situation that will eventually blow up. |

Doubt it.
Do I want rings?
Well, he got 2 with the Lakers as a player and one with the Warriors as an assistant coach.
Do I want money?
He got paid, as a player and a coach.
Do I want recognition?
Perhaps, but if he turns around LA, he'll receive just as much with the fans and this market. |

I doubt it, and I also doubt he would be a lock for the HOF. I would be seriously worried about Luke as a prospect if he's envying Mike Brown. I don't want a coach that's crying about "how I could have had the easy road."
But being a NBA fan, Lakers fan, and always wanting a stacked line-up, beating up everybody, hogging all the chips.. I understand the question from a fan perspective. As a fan, we're a little envious of the Warriors current situation. But as it pertains to real employment in the NBA. I doubt these coaches are wired like fans, I doubt they think like you or me. Prime example is tanking. You wanna lose all games for ping pong balls. Luke wants to win every game and doesn't think about the consequences of not having another top pick or trade chip. |

It's not always about the easy job that you can get job security with in life. I can't speak for Luke but growing up as a Lakers fan, if I was in his position I wouldn't regret it one bit.
Taking on the challenge of coaching a struggling team with such rich history and bringing them back to where they belong is something I'd want. Also, if he's our coach through our rebuild and to our first championship, this dude is going to be a (bleep) legend in LA. He's going to be like Pop/Spurs where he has more job security then anyone on the franchise. That's the challenge that would keep me up at night personally and I think Luke is the same way.
Compared to just being handed a dynasty and then after they're past their peak and you have your first rough season people would be coming for his head talking about how he got lucky with that talent. _________________ “Life is too short. You have to keep it moving.” - Kobe |
