I am more lukewarm on Ball then the OP. Would not hate his addition but not considering him the "star" player either.

In all honesty I like all three of the top three most mentioned for different reasons. The arguments have been made for the preferences so I will just stick with the overall concept. Draft any of Fultz, Ball or Jackson. Just draft one if they are lucky enough to keep the pick.

Player and system development should be the priority this year. IMO.

Prefer they use the two picks wherever they land in top 3, #28 or #33. Perhaps add a free agent or two to round out the roster. Keep Mozgov and Deng. Tired of arguing about contracts, sibling rivalries or win/loss records. Time to focus on this season and improving.

Let Walton coach. Let the young guys have the weight of responsibility and the vets to contribute whatever they can in locker room presence or on court performance. Let the FO get their feet wet in the new position before making franchise changing decisions.

Lakers have made some dramatic changes. They have finally stocked the roster with talent. Let them have a season to develop then re-evaluate.

It actually makes sense that Russell and Ingram are the odd men out. You simply have to give up something of value or potential value to get something in return. I think its a mistake to trade a way Randall. He is the Lakers most all-around consistent player. He consistently plays hard. He has all the marks that you look for. Young, strong, tough, runs well, rebounds, handles, shoots, decent defender that will get better...this is the type of piece that will help you win a ring once you add the correct pieces.

He can be a part of a foundation. You need players like Randall when you bring guys in like George or the Lonzo ball's in. Guys like Russell will just be in their way. Russell's a guy that is good at some things but not great at anything. Russell and Ingram are guys you trade while their value is high because if you hold on to them too long, you'll regret it.

I simply cannot see either of these guys ever being the best player on your team..nothing about them says leadership or best player on the floor.

Russell has bambi knees and is a injury away from being a cost obligation and I just don't believe that (Ingram) with his aloof personality will have the needed work ethic or commitment to mold himself into a great player. I do not see it.

Waiting for your 2018 post where Lonzo is now the "odd man out" too.

If I am wrong, I'll humbly admit it. I'll take my chance with Lonzo Ball over Russell. Better skill set. Better athlete. Better leader. Just what my eye tells me...only issue I have with Lonzo is he's a little timid (what I see in his game) but he's a more intelligent basketball player and I think he can grow out of that with the right coaching and preparation.

I think Lonzo Ball is going to surprise some people on the next level. He'll have his rookie bumps but he's going to be good. Most hyped player since Bron.

Your eye test tells you Randle can shoot and defend?

I'm almost certain you're joking.

What I say is that if we get PG, we'll at-least make the playoffs. We need to hope the young guys develop so that we can go deeper into the playoffs.

Never heard anyone talk about Ingram like he's too obsessed with the LA life, so I have to hand it to you, it was an interesting read if nothing else!

You should watch the games and see how wrong you are about our team in general, and if you already watch then you should consider getting classes

I would love to have Paul George here when he is a free agent. If we have to gut out our young core to get George then no thanks.

Oh and Fultz over Lonzo for me.

I see Ingram being a 16/5/2 with good but not great defense on a contending team. Definitely worth having.

in his prime? Cause he averaged 4 rebounds 2 assists in 29 minutes last season... so he'll never be a better assist man and even if he puts on all the stregnth he's going to never improve more then 1 rebound?

lol

edit: 13/4/2.5 since ASB too.

Yes in his prime. On a contender he will be playing with better players than on a bottom 3 team.

then you don't think at the very least he'd get more then 2 assists if we got more minutes with more capable players?

either way I think your being way to pessimistic and if that was to be the case I have no problem trading him before people realize it. 15/5/2 with just good defense is pretty (bleep) for the 2nd pick.

He's going to be a star in my opinion
