At least it's dead for 2018, a lot remains to be seen for 2019.

Basically it was a 1 in 5 chance to keep all our picks. My Kupchak voodoo doll can now go back in the drawer, I was getting a little salty thinking we might get nothing for last season.

So nice to have no incentive to lose now. Time to get back to winning and fix this thing.

So it was either give up 2017 and 2019 pick (Howard Trade) OR just give up 2018 pick? Two picks vs. one pick? I guess we got the ideal situation. Even better if we make playoffs and that 2018 pick isn't so high.

If you are rooting for losses in the 2017-18 season, then you are hopelessly lost as a casualty of the tank wars.

I wonder if Deng is happy or sad that he'll have to suit up for games. I hope he comes into preseason in game shape.

I have 76ers fans licking their chops at getting a top pick in 2018.

To that I say, WIN, WIN, WIN. Give them the lowest pick possible.

FA in 2018 and no trades this year. Per Magic. Settle in for one year of internal development and integrating ball into the lineup then, stretch a Mozdeng contract and go full press in free agency in 2018!

IMO this is perfect way to go.

I'm so glad all Lakers fan can cheer on the Lakers to win next season. It was really disturbing seeing some Lakers fan hoping Lakers would lose...

I love the fact that Phoenix blatantly tanked while we went on a mini win streak and we still got the higher pick. RIP Tank and (bleep) you, Suns!

We also give up 3 second round picks by keeping the 2017 and 2019 firsts.

I know we've been saying it for the past 2 seasons but... does the rebuild officially start now?

I think the rebuild started last season since we didn't have Kobe. This is year 2 in my mind.

We also lose our 2018 2nd round pick to Orlando so we currently have only Denver's 2nd round pick next year.

I guess we'll be spending most of our time next off-season talking free-agency and trades which suits me just fine. I'm sick of talk of tankings and lotteries.

Didn't know this. I retract my originally statement, the tank is definitely dead this coming season

If it is 3 then one must be in the 2020s. The 2019 second round pick was part of the Hibbert trade and was owed either way.

Frustrating how the media only voices partial truths. All year all we heard from the media is if we miss out on top three this year we also miss out in 2019. That was the headline. They would once in a while mention keeping the 2018 1st round and never did they mention what else we would have preserved had we not received #2 this year.

I'm glad they were forced to tank the last 3 years. It's the only reason we have these great prospects on the team, Ingram, Russell, and most like Ball. Picking in the mid lotto and back isn't the same, and we wouldn't have a bright future if that was the case.

It is only 2, this year and next.

The Lakers improved by 9 wins over last years win total and that was trying to lose games. They won't have Wiiams as they did for the first half of last year and could lose swaggy p. No reason to believe they can't win another 5-9 games over this years total. If they catch some luck, stay healthyand the young guys continue to develop they could win 15 more games over this years total getting them to .500(very unlikely though). Looks like the pick we give to philly will be 10-14 range. I'm hoping that's the worst case scenario.
