I was one of the most vocally pissed off posters when Luke engineered that meaningless late season winning streak that I thought would cost us our pick. Well clearly that win streak saved our butts as it allowed Phoenix to move past us for the 2nd worst record and in essence if we remained at 2nd worst we would've lost our picks while turning Philly into a monster with the #3 and #4 picks. Instead we swapped places with Phoenix and moved up to #2 while they went to #4.
So thank you Luke Walton!! There was a method to the madness and it all worked out and we now can finally put the team tank behind us for at least a generation. Next year we cheer for a bunch of wins and by 2019 we will be a completely different and improved team.
Today was a great day in Laker history. |

I am gonna admit that I was mad at that winning streak and mad at posters for thinking winning those games were gonna help us and not hurt us, so I'd like to apologize.
But if you don't mind, I'm just gonna eat some chicken tacos instead. Personally, I'm not too big on crows. _________________ “Life is too short. You have to keep it moving.” - Kobe |

It takes a big man to admit he was wrong. Especially about something so serious as getting angry when the team was winning instead of tanking. I hope you've learned your lesson and make sure that history doesn't repeat itself. I forgive you my son. |

Oh please, there's nothing wrong with wanting the best odds at something.
It all worked out at the end and that's all that matters. |

Don't feel bad. Logically you were correct, it's always better to have the better odds. Sometimes being lucky is really good too though like in today's case. But it could've just as easily went the other way, and probably should have. But we can all be happy that we have the number 2 pick in tow. |

I am embarrassed to admit I was an inch away from a full blown meltdown. Through it all my father was as calm as a clam. Everytime I'd go off on a rant he'd just say "son, God is a Laker fan". He moved to America during the West/Elgin/Wilt era so he's seen some things. I should've listened to his wisdom |

Quote: | Eating crow is a colloquial idiom, used in English-speaking countries that means humiliation by admitting having been proven wrong after taking a strong position. Crow is presumably foul-tasting in the same way that being proven wrong might be emotionally hard to swallow. |
I don't think everyone's eating it right. Not enough "humiliation" or "admittance of wrong" in their tone. |
