Is he ahead of schedule in his recovery? It looks like he’s already starting to practice.

Lonzo's form looks normal in this video. Goes straight up and shoots. No slinging motion.
It may take him awhile to get comfortable with it. So that it gets second nature.
But can see him taking 1/2 season to get used to it. But when
he does get used to it the shoots should start falling.

I didn't realize there were this many shooting experts on LG
When the average Joe has this much knowledge, I think the Lakers will be fine without a specialized "shooting" coach.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to notice Lonzos form was unusual. Watched all the UCLA games and saw it. But the ball went into the basket.
But perhaps with the pros the defense is so good that they caught up to it. Who knows.
But if Kobe will mentor him it would be great.

Kobes is at most number #5 on my list. I'd take the following before Kobe:

1. LeBron
2. Rondo
3. Magic
4. Luke

I think Lonzo's in good hands without the Mamba.
Side note: a one day session != Mentorship.

Ah, this is what I was asking for. Finally some extended footage that can be dissected. He's not bringing it from the left side of his face anymore.

Hard to tell from the cut-off damn view.. but from what his left arm is doing, I’d say you’re right. Less cockback and taking it far left
Yeah that's a frustrating angle, but it looks like you're right on the change in mechanics, which I'm happy to see.

Lonzo did shoot 80% from the FT line in high school, so I suspect he's more capable of making that jump than a perennial low percentage shooter would. But yes, even if he returned to 60's it would stop 'hack a Lonzo.'

Yeah there may not be 3 people alive better than LeBron, Magic and Rondo to work with Lonzo. The 4th guy would be Nash.

Luke's style of play helps him relate to Lonzo on a level many can't.

Lonzo certainly has the best mentors and this year should be a great year of learning for him. I just hope the knee is sound and that he can stay healthy. He should be a much more mature player by the time the playoffs start.

If he had been healthy all off season we would all be really pumped up about him going into the year. I would love an update on the knee. Seems like it should be closed to being healed.

I don't know what being mentored by Kobe has to do with his shot. I also don't know why he needs to be mentored by Kobe. LeBron is here, guys. I guess the full impact of what that means still hasn't sunk in yet for some. Let me put it this way:

All of the ’Such and such a player on the team needs to work out/talk to Kobe to get better’ ideas can now be transferred directly over to LeBron. Anyone who hasn't already worked out with Kobe or formed a relationship with him, odds are it's not going to happen now. But it doesn't need to happen, either. Again, their relationship with LeBron will be so much closer to any relationship they'll ever have (if they ever do) with Kobe because they're going to be sharing a locker room with LeBron for the next few years. That means his influence on them will always be more substantial than Kobe's.

Lonzo consistently hitting his 3's is gonna be HUGE for us. If he goes 35-37% on good volume, we will probably hit the upper range of win projections, 50+ wins.

If he goes 35-37% on 3's and 80%+ on free throws (which he capable of doing), the sky is the limit for the 2018-19 Lakers.

Lets be conservative with our expectations, maybe even very conservative..

Lonzo with a 3 is a game changer. But yeah, it's still a big IF at this point.

Thanks TMMB. That was what I was referring to when I thought that it was within his capabilities. The free throw line isn't any different in HS than it is in the NBA.

Do I expect Lonzo to make that kind of leap? No. Do I hope that he does? Yes--because if he does, the Lakers are going to be a lot of fun to watch.

I also hope that Bonga becomes Magic Johnson! Will it happen? No. There is a difference between hope and expectation.

What’s up with Zo? There hasn’t been much info on him since the surgery. I wonder if he’ll even be ready for the regular season.

So the player development coach is gonna leapfrog all the guys on the front bench with more extensive coaching experience in the NBA?

When you could sit with one of the greatest players to play the
game, you do that, obviously, no grip with the rest of the guys
you selected. See he didn't have LeBron or Rondo last season,
but he was still so accomplished that he didn't work with Kobe?
Silly of him, but close to arrogant; IMO.

I like how you just ignored the Magic part lol.

By that logic Ingram is arrogant.

Last season, I remember Brandon Ingram being interviewed about it earlier in that summer and he just said it was going to happen, and he wasn't going to make a big announcement about it when it did. Then he said, "It may have already happened." If I had to guess, they've probably worked out but maybe not.. the intent was there though...

It hard for me to keep my pessimism in check when it comes to Lonzo's shot.
Just gonna bite my tongue and hope he shoots well this year.

Just hope that the videos on the site is not bogus. But there was one posted on Bleacher Report but it was from a bad angle.
Lonzo can shoot but his sling keeps him from getting off a consistent shot against a good defender.
If he fixes it now, like Ingram, good times are ahead.
Tell if bogus videos or not.
