something about Lonzo just annoys the hell out of me... feels like he's trying way too hard.

ps- this wasn't here yesterday so given tattoos require some (minimal) down time before perspiration and activity, not the best look considering the timing is the day of training camp

I think he's impressionable but I like Lonzo.

I'm surprised nobody think he will have a sophomore slump. I think he might struggle this year but will be a monster in his third year.

Because he sucked at things that a lot of rookies struggle with and improve a lot in their second year. See BIs drastic improvement as a shooter and finisher as an example. The things he did well, aren’t things that tend to be streaky, you have them or you don’t.

Why do you think he’ll have a sophomore slump?

So now we know that Dave McMenamin is a lying douche

hate how he is hanging around the lakers these days as soon as lebron came here.

he can stay in Cleveland.

what was he lying about?

I personally think Dave never wanted to leave LA for Cleveland but he likes covering contenders and what better option then Covering the King in Cleveland...

I think either the author took it out of context or Dave is becoming a big douche.

Pretty sure he just has to go wherever ESPN assigns him

Of course but you know he was lobbying hard to come back to LA when Lebron came here.

Kobe makes an impossible 3 -

Joel Myers - "He's hard to believe!"

Stu Lantz - "Uh, no he's not"

*Joel stays quiet for the next minute or so*

This was Joel Myers experience sitting next to Stu Lantz in LA.

Have you guys already forgotten how Luke thought starting Loul Deng the start of last season and playing Andrew Bogut over more productive players was a good idea?

This is pretty much Luke operating like he always has.

Was that the game winner against the Kings in 2010?

How is he "trying too hard?" I mean, if there's a try hard dude among the kids it's Kuzma.

Playing Andrew Bogut was a good idea. We could’ve benefited from him getting more time.

Did you guys see Clarkson yesterday? Dude went from no tattoos to JR Smith over the offseason.

He'll be Birdman by next season.

Putting it this way makes it seem like you are ignoring the tremendous amount of work BI put in. BI didn't get better because days passed on the calendar, he got better because he put in a lot of work. Just a reality of having knee surgery in the offseason, not calling Lonzo anything less than a hard worker, but he was physically prohibited from putting in BI level work this summer. You are discounting the effect of the work BI put in to his game if you think Lonzo will improve similarly just because time passed by.

He had surgery this off-season and he's just been cleared. It's possible that Rondo and LeBron mesh this year and Rondo doesn't return that starting job. Also, I think he'll have to adjust to LeBron. It's a lot of factors. I think he'll be inconsistent this year trying to find his way.

In what ways will he be inconsistent that he wasn’t last year? That’s what I don’t totally understand although you make a good point with the surgery. I think he naturally fits with LeBron more so than anybody on the team as well do I don’t see that as an issue either.

I don't think that's a good example of the hate though. Both guys are basically saying Kobe is amazing. He's hard to believe! No he's not = you better believe it! Both are compliments.

I dont see how declaring this before training camp really helps anything.

If Lonzo can't win the job then he shouldn't get the job.

I do, however, believe he will be the starter by mid-season.

There is no sense that he won’t be the starter even by the season opener, I think Rondo is more interested in making Lonzo a better player then him trying to get the starting spot but if he does get the starting job hopefully he rises to the occasion.

If I recall correctly, this is the same guy that tried to get Magic to say that he contracted the HIV virus through some other way than heterosexual sex. He was implying that Magic was secretly having relations with men.

No doubt that he has his biases.

Wow, thanks for the info.

I remember it so well because of how much McMenamin implied, but never backed up with any facts. He just sullied Magic name without any f'n proof.

Your welcome IG.
