Last year and this year since LeBron has been out we have blown leads late when Ingram runs the offense and goes into ISO mode. Against OKC Luke went with ZO running the offense late and it played out better. Will Luke learn or will he revert?

No need to adjust. Melo incoming.

He's so bad on defense, I can't see how the Lakers would keep their opponent from scoring when he's on the field. ESPN did a little bit of analysis on the Thunder/Jazz playoff series 2 years ago:

In 194 minutes with Anthony on the court, the Jazz outscored the Thunder by 58 points and the Thunder had a net rating of minus-12.6. In the 94 minutes with Anthony on the bench, the Thunder outscored the Jazz by 32 points and had a net rating of plus-18.1.

Lonzo is a great defender. I'm not going to get caught up in the "lock down" phrasing etc. It's not a coincidence that some great guards have put up poor shooting numbers when guarded/shots contested by Lonzo. Sure he gets lit up occasionally, but many times it's after being run around screens. There's not a whole lot you can do about that. They set screens for a reason. If Lonzo couldn't stop dribble penetration, they wouldn't use screens at all against him. They'd isolate him and go to town. That doesn't happen.

People just have to be patient, not just with Lonzo but the entire young core. Realize that the Lakers closed that game with 3 21 year-olds and 2 23 year-olds on the court. In a hostile environment against a top 4 WC team. There aren't a lot of teams in the league who can trot that young a lineup out and expect wins. 3 second year players and 2 third year players. Regardless of the talent level, lineups that young just do not win consistently. Hell, the current blueprint of homegrown talent, GSW, didn't even win 47 games until Steph's 4th season (age 24) with 2nd year Klay (age 22). 22 year-old Draymond was only playing 13mpg. They didn't even turn into the GSW we see now until a 2 additional seasons later. Under .500 record until Steph's 4th season in the league. These kids are on an accelerated timeline with LeBron on board, but I think they're all making strides here.

The real question may be whether Ingram will learn.

You mean if Luke will find consistency and stick to what works?

Idk really...

Hopefully he can go learn under Scott Brooks in Washington.

this Lonzo is absolutely amazing....

LeBron needs to adjust when he gets back and not the other way around. And not saying that bc Zo is the better or more important player but bc Zo can make the game sooooo much easier for LeBron if LeBron allows him.

My desire to want to trade him is decreasing pretty rapidly.

The Jason Kidd comparison is no longer a "stretch"

Sorry this guy has his quirks but he is special.

Every player has a different timeline to develop. Lonzo will happen, just need to be patient. As others have said, Lebron needs to play off-ball more and allow Lonzo to dictate the pace.

LeBron going down probably the best thing that happened to Zo. He’s slowly developing his entire game. He just needs to keep it up when Bron comes back.

When Lebron comes back, Zo still needs to bring the ball up the court.
He gets the offense moving with the quick pass and it keeps him engaged.
Takes the pressure off LeBron as well.

He’s so valuable to the team. They look lost without him out there.

An elite NBA athlete should not be rolling his ankle that easily. I think it’s time for him to give it up with those Dollar Tree BBB sneakers.

He stepped on someone’s foot who might have undercut him. Did not have much to do with his shoes.
