Of course...

Sounds like a Lakers leak after realizing 4-6 weeks is ridiculous timeline for a grade 3 sprain. A bone bruise is mostly just pain tolerance right? And unrelated to an ankle sprain?

nunez and his incompetency strikes again

This hurts them for so many reason. Perpetuates the takes long to recover narrative even though 4-6 weeks would’ve been WAY ahead of schedule. Annoys fans, hurts trade value, changes priorities on the buy out market. The timeline never made much sense.
In my 20's, I self diagnosed a serious ligament tear that I now believe was the most serious version of what Lonzo has (grade 3). I played earlier, but it was 2 months before my ankle had the stability and confidence he's going to need.

So mid March? I’d be very happy if he’s playing by then.

Next year training camp

I think that’s fairly pessimistic.

I mean the 4-6 week timeline never made sense for a grade 3 sprain. So this shouldn't surprise anybody. IDK why the FO releases these BS timelines.

The extracurricular stuff just annoys me when you're shooing 42% free throws. Reality tv show, drop the mic, etc. I really don't want to see that stuff when you're shooing 42% free throws.

I had the same injury and pretty much just laughed at that timeline when I first heard it. I said it was either not a grade 3 or it was a bad timeline.

We can forget about Zo this season. Bone bruise is code for "he's out for the rest of the season".

If the Lakers have a very good last 1/4 of the season, and are in a spot competing to make the playoffs, it would mean that the rest of the team is clicking. With a clicking team, re-acclimating Lonzo to the team will be a much lower priority to the coaching staff. Getting Lonzo burn for the sake of getting him into a rhythm will take a backseat to trying to win games (again, a clicking team).

If the Lakers have a not so good last 1/4 of the season, and are effectively eliminated from playoff contention, there would be no point in bringing him back to so that he court his trade value. It will take him too long to regain in game condition (especially since he's not doing any running now) and longer to establish any type of rhythm.

I'd be shocked(!!) if he comes back this season.

We already knew the 4-6 week timeline was a joke for a Grade 3 sprain. FO thinks fans are stupid.

I'm one of his biggest supporters around here. I've said many times he should be untouchable. And at the same time, I can also be annoyed by his extra activities. That's just me.

I mean, there's so much time in a day.
How many hours of the day shooting FTs would appease you?

Until he gets them up to 90%, damn it!

j/k

Was sorry to read the news, we could really use him. If we somehow make the playoffs and he returns thereabout he'll be too rusty to matter, imo.

this boy too injury prone, man. I'm okay with letting him go for someone else in the offseason. Just someone who can play and stay on the floor and not be injured all the freaking time.

That Steve Nash injury saga is still too fresh in my mind, I don't want anyone who is injured far too often.
