Luke said that Lonzo is in the shape to play about 25 minutes right now. |
So it is in fact a stamina/conditioning issue. |
Ugh.
First, I'm gonna make the crazy assumption that how long he was out from the injury has something to do with that. I mean, that's at least a little possible, right?
Secondly, I'm gonna make another crazy assumption that Luke is factoring in the pace they intend to play, which is literally historic (fastest ever) according to Cranjis.
But yeah, let's just bypass all of this and go with the flashier, doom and gloom conclusion that Lonzo just has stamina issues. Ugh. _________________ “Christ did not die to forgive sinners who go on treasuring anything above seeing and savoring God. Um. He does have conditioning issues. Every rookie has conditioning issues. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

It has been reported that he is easily winded in practice |
I guess that explains it.. I thought the initial reports about his stamina was bogus. |
This is perplexing if true. Dude did nothing but run at a high pace at Chino Hills and UCLA and rarely broke a sweat. |
Sorry VLF but are you referencing that one post that GT made about Lonzo being winded his first day back to practice after recovering from his ankle injury? If so that is one instance where he was winded after being out for a week. He is no longer winded folks. Nothing to see here, Zo is good to go and not "prone" to being winded. |
Common sense and a career coaching tells me that he isn’t in game shape after sitting for a couple of weeks. GT’s own observation said the same thing. I have no idea why you made up the scenario about being prone to being winded, I have no idea what that even means. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

I hope all other rookies having good starts gives him some motivation to get off to a fast start. I don't want him starting slow again. Let's get it right away. |

I'm pleased with the outlines of his game tonight. You can see the unique game he's going to bring. |

Me too -- he missed out on a gillion assists as no one can make a shot. |

I expect his individual offense to be lackluster so I wasn't too disappointed on that end. His rebounding was incredible, but nobody other than Brook (who was putrid) wants open jumpshots. What can he do? |

Didn't back down from Beverly. Went back at him when challenged. Good sign. 10 games in I think we will be surprised with how much he has adjusted to NBA. |

If Zo had any talent or system around him, he would have double digit assists tonight. I thought he played well, and I think he showed a lot of toughness going up against Beverley. I wish Luke would have given him some reps during garbage time. I didn’t think he looked winded at all. |

Least of our concerns. He actually looked like he belonged out there. |

He looked alright tonight. Liked his activity on the boards, but he just dies on screens. Think it's most likely a matter of the physicality of the NBA, which I think he'll adjust to. |

Oh lord, flipped to ESPN and Stephen A is with Lavar on the floor and Lavar is throwing the whole team under the bus. |

He played well. He was looking to set up his team first. But i want to see him
take on the defender and break some ankles and drain some sweet J. |

Good job on the boards but NBA screens stops him defensively. I am glad that he got a rough matchup with Beverley, he now has an idea what the league is about. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

His ankle was acting up after the 1st Q, and they have a winnable game tomorrow night, so I understand Luke's decision there.
I don't understand putting a lineup of Ingram, Brewer, and Nance around him in the 3rd Q. |

Not that I would go about it that way especially on national TV -- but the team around Lonzo stunk --- if had a resemblance of an NBA team around him he would've had a gillion assists. |

Luke likes nonshooters around his prized pass first PG |
