out of all the ignorant things this man says....I find things like this the most concerning....he keeps mentioning guys in the locker room, especially insinuating their success was only because of his son....it is going to be a problem sooner than later.

Same nugget as when he was on the Herd.
We need to trade Lonzo now!

Lonzo + Deng for Josh Jackson + #1 + $5M
Who says no?

Phoenix LoL

I rather just take the #1 for Zo and Deng and have a nice day

Are you sure?
I mean, Lonzo can't shoot. He had a hurt knee. His dad is horrible.
Can't we unload him for the #1 pick, and last year's #4, all while unloading deng?

Not enough, I say.

Ok final offer!

Lonzo + Deng for #1 pick, Josh Jackson, 2020 #1 and 2019 #2 + $5M.

I assume the 2019 pick is a swap, in which case...maybe. Let me think about it some more.

the Suns would not even consider moving Jackson straight up for Ball....much less include any picks.

McDonough isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, is he?

We know this how?

What if they would like a Ball/Booker backcourt?

But why would the Lakers want Jackson?

Why are we even talking about this?

I hate him and sooner or later Lonzo is gonna have to get some balls. He also said Lonzo and Kyle ain’t cool. Lavar needs a punch to the face.

Noticably Bigger Brandon Ingram continuing to work this off-season

Notice Ingram, who improved his shooting greatly after his rookie season, still working on fundamental shooting. That's like 4th/5th grade shooting clinic stuff. Obviously it works and it's useful to break someone's shot down to the core to improve it.

I really hope Lonzo is doing something similar. I don't care if he's "always" shot the way he has. Laker management needs to stop saying things like "it's worked for him all his life, no need to change his form." Well, he was terrible at shooting last season, so there is some need to change something. It doesn't need to be a complete overhaul (though maybe it should; I mean Kobe did and it worked), but there just needs to be some focus on mechanics and staying consistent.

He can't continue to shoot three pointers one way and free throws another. I mean his release points for both are different! That right there is already a bad sign.

During the exit interviews they talked about things like working on consistency. He may not changing his form, but he’s working on making it go in more.

He needs to fix his release point consistency the most, I think. The free throw form vs in-game form is the biggest discrepancy i can see. On his free throws it looks like he's actually shooting more "correctly," meaning more to the center of his body not the sling shot fling from the left side of his head. But his in-game shots are usually that weirder left-side-of-head release flings, which yeah he makes, but he's shown he's streaky - which isn't surprising since he really has no consistent release point.

Lavar just talks so nobody focuses on Lonzo's historically awful shooting.
Lavar's controlling the narrative.

Meanwhile, the only news I want to hear from that camp is on Lonzo's shot.
Is he tweaking it? Is he overhauling it?
Is he keeping it the complete same and saying his struggles were mental?
Is he not focusing on it at all, and trying to pursue a Rondo-like sort of game next season?

This is pretty random but I posted this on reddit.

I understand that not being able to score at all is a big deal and it totally changes the direction of Lonzo's career but some people refuse to recognize how good he is a other things outside of scoring.

The Lakers were 12th in the league as a defensive team, Lonzo was second in the team in blocks after Brook Lopez, and first in steals. He's third in defensive ratings after Nance who got traded and Bogut who played just 5 minutes. He's top 3 in both defensive win shares and DBPM. He was in the western conference, played the point guard position and was arguably the best defender on a good defensive team as a 20 year old rookie.

The eye test backs that up as well. He averaged 7.2 assists per game, and only had 2.6 turnovers but the impressive part is that he's only 10th on the team in usage. His game is just different then what we're accustomed so people underrate how effective he really was for the Lakers.

I think you’re right, but we’ll never know. Even if they assess Ball as the better prospect (which may or may not be the case), a lot of teams would discount him because of his dad. The Lakers likely have a higher tolerance for that sort of thing than pretty much any other team.

Setting that aside, you’re talking about potential versus potential. Ball was the better overall player as a rookie, but teams will assess young players by what they think they will be in a couple years.
