Ya, you're crazy. Fultz is the consensus #1.

I think Boston trades the pick. Ainge is a cunning technician, he's proven this since he took over in Boston. It frightens me what Boston can become in the next few years with all the assets he has piled up. Remember they could have the #1 pick next year as well. Scary...

I do too. What adkindo said about IT is valid. He's a folk hero in that city now.

Ainge shipped out a career Celtic and champ in PP and the engine the helped them win a ring in KG for these picks.

While IT's situation is more delicate... let's not act like Ainge cares too much about the story/history of what someone has done.

That's not to say he'll trade Thomas, but it is to say that if he feels like Fultz is the right guy, he'll take him and then figure out who else has to go.

I do think Josh Jackson could end up in consideration for #1... very much the type of player that his helping them win now.. monster defender, play maker, toughness, etc.

He's going first to Boston, and then to Chicago for Jimmy Butler.

They are similar, but Fultz is a significantly better athlete than DLo.

Futlz is so skilled and plays at his own pace that you forget he also will drive down the lane and throw down a dunk or catch a lob.

He is one of the best offensive players I've seen in a long time. If he was 2 inches taller, he would be close to a superstar lock.

That's the thing. He's too short to be an elite 2 guard. He has the skillsets to be an elite two guard but not the height. Ball has the better skillsets for a PG, passing and shooting. It's very important for a PG to have a good jumpshot in order to help open up the passing lanes.

Unless they don't trade Fultz and he busts.

I would be surprised, but not chocked if we have both Ball and Fultz available at #2.

Jackson looks like a great fit in Boston and developing a jump shot he is a Kawhi kind of prospect. Worst case for him I believe is a long NBA career.

So is the Celtics-Nets trade the most one-sided trade in history?

Absolute heist, especially if they land the #1 again next year. Third team in history getting the #1 while being the top seed in the conference.

Whenever someone suggests we trade our youth to try to "win now" they should be forced to read a full synopsis of what the Nets did and how it turned out for them.

I can see that I guess, but he's a bit doughy and too good of a shooter for the comparison to work perfectly.

If Fultz and Ball are both available at 2...man. Don't know what I would do. First instinct is to take Fultz and run, but I really believe in Lonzo's ability to be a floor general.

They traded the future for veterans ready to retire.

I'm ok trading assets for PG13 or Butler, but I wouldn't move a piece to get players like Melo or Wade at this point of their careers and that was basically what Nets did.

Yeah big difference between trading for someone who turned 27 a week ago, or trading for someone who's 37

I want this kid on the Lakers badly but it's not going to happen.

I may or may not be reverse-jinx speaking this into existence for the next month. Magic had a lot of praise for him on Spectrum last night

I have a feeling Fultz will be going to Chicago, with maybe a Crowder for Butler in return. Both teams win. Chicago made the playoffs and didn't have to tank to rebuild. Boston in in the ECF and improves with Butler and his non-expiring contract.

Nets went all in because they had just opened the new arena and had a very rich Russian owner who wanted to make a splash in the NBA. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a disastrous transaction since all they got were 2 seasons out of those washed up Celtics players and instead have basically crippled their future.

Uh they were trying to build around a 27 year old Deron Williams and gave away a fortune of unprotected picks since they needed to have a "splash" for that Brooklyn Debut. Now they suck and will for a decade or so.

Fultz is the favorite to go 1st, but I agree with Pelinka that there is not a clear cut number 1 in this class. I don't have concerns about Fultz like I have with other top prospects, but I wouldn't be surprised with Ball (without his dad) or Jackson going 1st.
