Everyone like to talk about how the NY Nets made the worst trade ever giving up their first rounders for a two year rental of aging Celtics bile, but the Kings on the tail of trading away Boogie dropped two slots in the draft lottery all because they had to give away Rajon Rondo.

Never change ya Queens.

I'd laugh, but then again the only thing that kept us from having a similar fate was dumb luck. Very easily, we could've lost a top 5 pick.

They still think of the Lakers all the time and compare themselves to the Lakers all the time. I remember watching the Kings broadcast after the Cousins trade and they said the Kings "were still in a better position" than the Lakers.

not the same scenario. What the Nets did was foolish from the get-go. There was no way ever an old Garnett + Pierce pair were going to get them past the Heat.
When the Lakers made the moves to get Nash and Dwight to pair with Kobe and Pau it was pretty much universally praised as a brilliant swan song effort to win atleast one more championship before Kobe was out of prime. Obviously it failed spectacularly but I dont think it deserves no where near the same egg in face humiliation that the Nets should get.

The 76ers swapping picks with the Kings was actually good for Sacramento. If the Sac pick remained at top 3, it would have belonged to the Pelicans.

Not exactly. New Orleans got the #10 pick and had to give it to Sacramento (because it wasn't top 3). The Kings' #3 pick (which got swapped with Philly's #5 pick) had nothing to do with the Pelicans.

Yeah but the Kings have the 5th and 10th picks. Which aren't too shabby.

Could easily be Jayson Tatum and Frank Ntilikina

So their lineup next year could be

Frank Ntilikina
Buddy Hield
Jayson Tatum
Skal Labissiere
Willie Cauley-Stein

Which is good for their future.

Which somehow they'll manage to mess up one way or the other.

There. Better.
