The pieces just look similar.

PG- Tall, pass first, triple double threat, charismatic. Ball/Magic

SG- 6-4/6-5 Lethal shooter, able to defend opposing point guards. Russell/Byron

SF- 6-9, long, smooth, slasher, post moves could be their most skilled offensive player. Ingram/Worthey

PF- 6-9, able to guard multiple positions, good defensive player, does all the little things, good for about 10 and 8. Nance/A.C.

C- 7 foot+post player who loves to shoot the sky hook. Also good d and passer. Zubac/Kareem.

We just need a Michael Cooper off the bench.

If we punt cap space and sign someone to a big one year deal like Tim Hardaway Jr --- whats realistic for this team next year?

I guess it'd all depend on how much player growth we get.

PG: Ball / Clarkson
SG: Russell / #28 pick
SF: Ingram / Hardaway Jr
PF: Randle/ Deng
C: Zubac / Nance

Young run and gun team. If everyone is willing to run every time, Ball is gonna find the open man for easy fast break points. In half court set, BI is gonna be the guy. I can't wait to see a lot of the ZuZo connections where Zubac feeds Ball above the rim.

We just need to get rid of the old guys who can't run anymore. We need young, fresh legs on the bench and make it a track meet every time we get the ball.

Nwaba can be our Cooper.....hopefully!

TRob can be Landsberger.

But I don't know if I would call Ball charismatic...I don't think I ever heard him say much....I only hear LaVar doing all the talking!

I don't know why I'm still so fixated on Buddy Hield. Maybe it bothers me that DLo doesn't shoot a jumpshot.

Just for fun, what do you think about trading DLo for BHield to fill the Byron Scott shooter role? I know people will say he's too old, but maybe it's better to not have so many really young guys at the same time.

But better.

Lonzo is Magic but more athletic. DLO is Byron but a better shooter. Ingram is Worthy but with more legnth. Nance is AC Green but more athletic. Zubac is Kareem but with a better skyhook and postmoves.

I'm convinced.

They are nowhere close to Showtime.

Edit: I guess I'm slow today or read it too fast. Is there a sarcasm icon?

Lonzo looks like a spaz compared to Magic.

Edit: Okay...I see what you did there. I read it too fast, and not in its entirety initially.

Some of these comparisons are just ridiculous.

Ball is far superior to Magic. Better shooter. Better handles. Better defense. Not even remotely close.

Magic and Lonzo. Come on.

This isn't showtime. We'll shoot more 3s than Showtime ever did in its entirety in one season. We are modeling after the Warriors/Spurs.

More like:

PG - Tall PG, triple-double threat
Ball/ Magic

SG - Lethal shooter, more crafty than quick
DLo/ Terry Teagle

SF - Long, reed-thin, versatile
Ingram/ Cooper

PF - Good in post and on break
Randle/ Worthy

C - Big, good post-scorer/ passer, working on balance and toughness
Zubac/ Divac

Not quite Showtime, more like post-Showtime, but still a good skill-set to have.

I am guessing that the OP never saw a rookie Magic. Or is just reaybad at comparisons.

Didn't like any Zubac comparison.

Big Zu is a sure fire HOF, but Cap is the GOAT while Divac is not on the same level of greatness.

I'm still laughing about the Randle good in the post , but he is a fantastic PF in transition, I'm looking forward for Ball/Julius/Clarkson/Ingram pushing the tempo in transition. Not the most efetive style in playoffs, but it is a enjoyable brand of basketball.
