PG- Tall, pass first, triple double threat, charismatic. Ball/Magic
SG- 6-4/6-5 Lethal shooter, able to defend opposing point guards. Russell/Byron
SF- 6-9, long, smooth, slasher, post moves could be their most skilled offensive player. Ingram/Worthey
PF- 6-9, able to guard multiple positions, good defensive player, does all the little things, good for about 10 and 8. Nance/A.C.
C- 7 foot+post player who loves to shoot the sky hook. Also good d and passer. Zubac/Kareem.
We just need a Michael Cooper off the bench. |
You'd be a great boxer with that reach. |

But man, this is the most anticipated season since I said that last year, and the year before. LOL!
Nothing will ever compare to the 96 wait after signing Shaq, but this will come close. |

To run and gun, you have to play D. Can't run and gun when you're taking the ball out after a made hoop. This squad doesn't play d whatsoever. Barring changes to the "core", Lonzo is renedered useless because he too plays zero D |

I hope not. I'm tired of living in the past. The showtime Lakers, btw, aren't automatically dominant in today's NBA. It's a different league. Let's focus on the future and evolving, not the past. _________________ LakersGround's Terms of Service

Sad thing about LG is I honestly can't even tell what is parody and what is serious. I certainly hope these guys develop, but right now, they resemble Showtime in the same way the Monkees resemble the Beatles. Four guys with similar haircuts. |

Comparing a college player that still has to play one NBA game to Magic, Zubac to Kareem and Julius to Worthy is clearly serious. What makes you think it can be a parody? |

Don't forget the lineup that, over the last six games, had a winning % not seen in nearly half a century of Lakers basketball (.833).
TRob = Wilt
MWP = Baylor
Tyler Ennis = Logo
Brewer = Goodrich
Nwaba = Jim McMillan
Tarik = Happy Hairston |

If the Lakers select Zo and Nick doesn't opt out, do you guys think this 10 man rotation is good?
Starters:
Zo - PG
D'Lo - SG
Brandon Ingram - SF
Julius Randle - PF
Zu - C
Bench:
Nick Young - SF/SG
Jordan Clarkson - SG
Luol Deng - PF
Larry Nance - C
Tyler Ennis - PG |

Right now I'm just hoping we don't become the 1994-1997 Dallas Mavericks. Three super talented, high draft picks who couldn't gel, fought over Toni Braxton, and found success on different teams later on down the road.
Jason Kidd - Lonzo Ball
Jimmy Jackson - DLO
Jamal Mashburn - Ingram
Popeye Jones - Randle
Roy Tarpley - Zu
Outside of Tarpley, everyone on this list has had long, successful NBA careers. Unfortunately for the Mavericks Kidd, Mashburn, & Jackson excelled later on, apart from their original team. I hope that isn't the case with our young core. |

I'm optimistic of our future but this is like listening to some youngster tell me that One Direction and Fifth Harmony are greater than the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. |

The thread, and some of it's ridiculous assertions, is a great source of humor to start my day so it has a purpose if they don't stop.
Lonzo> Magic
Zubac= Kareem, just doesn't have the hook shot yet
You telling me that stuff isn't funny? The only way it's not funny is if you (as in the board) take it seriously. |

Lakers fans never seize to amaze me. I remember reading this board during the summer of 2005 when we got Phil back and many were starting threads on how we will win the championship in 2006 with a lineup of Smush, Kobe, Walton, Odom, and Kwame |
