Agreed. Imagine if can't win it all this year......Not to mention the luxury to play with Wade/Bosh or Irving/Love. And hard to imagine his Heat or Cavs vs prime GDP+Bowen or Big 3+Rando, any chance?

So Irving and Love are better than Shaq?

If LeBron has an injury and can still lead his team to a ship this year, then I'll give him props. I always wonder how many Kobe would have won if he was always 100%

The thing that I can't get over with LeBron is he quit on two teams, cavs 1.0 and aging/breaking down heat team. Was it smart or opportunistic? Sure, but Jordan, Kobe, etc. did not leave organizations and quit.

Barkley had a good segment about this on the espn710 morning show recently.

he's not. too poor of a finals record, and consistent lack of competition in the East.

lebron wouldn't go to as many finals if he had SAS in his conference for a good chunk of his career.

there's no reason you have to run down one to boost the other. What LeBron has done is incredible. Every year there's some other contender for MVP, this year it's Westbrook/Harden, before it was Curry, Durant and so on and yet LeBron keeps trucking along as the most powerful and valuable player in the league. Give the dude his props, nobody else has dominated these last, what? about 10 years? like he has.

Kobe had to prove he could win without him.

Certainly, Lebron did a great job of picking and choosing his teammates. It's what made him a champion. Absolutely no doubt a great player and talent, but it goes to show you how much the league has changed. Kobe (and players of his era) had no choice but to play with Kwame Brown and Smush Parker. Can you imagine if he got to collude with 2 other All-Star/All-NBA players to form a team? And do it in by far the weaker conference? Then when those guys get old and break down, join another team with 2 younger, All-Star caliber players. He gamed the system to his advantage, big time.

Kobe quit in 2008, it was all over at that point. I don't care who is better between Kobe and Lebron but Barkley would be carrying both of their bags.

Lebron made the Finals with literally nothing around him in his first stint with the Cavs.

Kobe only won with Shaq and then Pau/Odom/Bynum too.

I disagree. Lebron is better than Kobe mainly because of his overall impact on the team. There's a reason he's made so many finals. Only Magic compares to Lebron in terms of team impact imo.

Eastern conference has always been a joke, which is why Lebron chooses to stay there. Only time he has ever been truly tested was against the The big 3 Celtics and failed miserably, hence him bailing on Cleveland.

His finals record speaks for itself.

i would agree with you just based off the numbers but in context it just wasnt the same. if you put lebron with same teams hes always had in the west i think he might have one less title. Put Kobe with same teams in the east and i think he at least puts up similar numbers to what Lebron os doing. I mean, look what he did to the Magic. Kobe woukd have done silly things in the east.

I think 90% of people out there would say at this point that Lebron is and will go down as better than Kobe. The remaining 10% are probably all Lakers fans. Chuck seems to change his mind depending on the day anyway.

Anyway, I've moved on from this one. Time to accept it.

I mean I know people say Kobe quit but he and other greats never left the organization. I am not saying Lebron isn't a great, just saying that I personally put that in the cons column for him.

What he did was smart for his career but it cheapens his accomplishments that he bailed twice on organizations.

He can do what he wants but I think it hurts him when Kobe, Jordan, etc. are discussed.

I honestly believe that Chuck was just trying to troll the heck out of Shaq when he said that. I was looking at Kenny's face and he glanced at Shaq when Barkley was saying it.Barkley has trashed Kobe so many damn times on the air that I doubt he believes that crap
