After six seasons as the Lakers head strength and conditioning coach, Tim DiFrancesco resigned from the team today, sources tell ESPN.

The Magic Effect? Was fun to follow on twitter. Seemed to have a good relationship with the players.

I'm expecting Magic to hire Mark McGwire as a replacement.

Well according to Magic, sans T-Rob, they were all out of shape.

According to Metta, he saved his career.

He also did a great job with JC when it came to adding size.

So I'd say he knows what he's doing definitely.

If he's getting rid of grassfed he'd better be getting someone better.

When it came to the size of the kids and them putting on weight properly and getting their bodies right, he went about it the proper way and didn't rush things. Was one of the best assets we had from the Mitch and Jim regime.

They're correct. Magic better have someone better up his sleeve.

Or maybe Rich Paul wants to make the jump.

Says resigns... not relieved of duties.

Guess people want to jump and assume it was Magic but I'll wait and see what the full story is.

Honestly, I'm sure he had built great inroads with players but those guys are replaceable.. and quite easily. So regardless of the story, it's not the end of the world.

The guy I'm really hoping is next is Nunez.

Man...he was one of the only behind the scenes guy that I likes. I wonder if he didn't agree with the new FO regime. Approached muscle building the right way. I'm afraid the guy they'll bring in next is going to rush ingram and cause silly injuries

If you are a strength and conditioning guy, you do not quit a job with a major professional sports team unless your really upset about something or you won the lottery.

I don't like this. He was likely offered an option to resign or be fired. But he always struck me as dedicated (especially considering all the work we heard about this past summer) and knowledgeable when talking about fitness. I really liked him, and it's probably a mistake if he was pushed out.

Thanks for that quote
agree. We also saw Randle more athletic this year than last, his standing vertical was no longer a weakness. Russell looked great vertically in SL, and even was a solid finisher in the paint in the regular season.

I really believe in his principles - strength is the main component for athleticism and health

Agree with MJST's post earlier. They better bring in someone better, because it sure sounded like Grassfed was good at his job.
