If he played better D I would be upset by this news. But man, he is terrible at D and he has played 4 years in college and 3 in the NBA, so I am not sure he is able to change it. Plus his 3 pt. shooting has been very average. As per the Nwaba vs. JC thread, I think that Nwaba's defense brings way more to the team at a fraction of the cost. _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss |

Not the smartest cookie for sure. Replacing JC with Lonzo probably increases the collective team IQ by several points.
Not surprisingly, the idiots I generally play pickup ball with think JC is the Lakers' best player. |

Predictable move. I think the FO will want to replace Nick Young's minutes at 2/3. Ideally a 3 and D player.
A potential back court of DLO, Ball, JC would be too kuch of a defensive liability. |

Problem is the matching contract. 12.5m for a bench guard is not a small contract. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Yeah. I think Magic/Pelinka/Luke want smart and intelligent players. JC...um, not so much. Probably a nice guy and fun to be around with though. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Wat. The Lakers should be able to get a first round pick for Clarkson or trade for a young player who was a first round pick. |
Give him to Detroit for #12 lol |
If you can't get that then try and get Wiz to take him. They need bench scoring. A 22 pick is good too. |
Would be ironic for Jordan because that's the team that originally drafted him before giving him up for cash to the Lakers lol
I'd like the GSW idea if the Lakers can possibly pry away Ian Clark and a Damian Jones. Both players are young and can be serviceable at a cheaper contract. Although, Ian Clark would have to be a sign and trade type of deal since he's a FA.
McCaw is the player I'd want the most, but I don't think he'll be moved and is probably perceived as Shaun Livingston's replacement. |

We could make a competitive offer for Patty Mills, seeing as how San Antonio might be busy clearing space for Chris Paul. Would love having Mills on the team.

The Lakers are "actively seeking out offers" for Jordan Clarkson according to Jordan Schultz of the Huffington Post.
This comes on the heels of a report by Moke Hamilton of Basketball Insiders that the Lakers are "increasingly open-minded" about trading Clarkson. The Lakers have been heavily linked to Lonzo Ball with the No. 2 pick which would shift D'Angelo Russell to shooting guard, so Clarkson may be expendable if the Lakers go that route. Magic Johnson recently said that Brandon Ingram is the only untouchable on his roster, so the Lakers could be in for a busy summer.

IIRC, isn't Mills a free agent?
Not sure if they want to spend that much on a backup guard. JC's 12.5m/year pricetag is a bit steep for a backup. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Funny how just a week ago Magic said he loved JC. That's why I don't buy into trade speculation until a deal is actually going down. _________________ Not a legend |

Doubt that's legit. We're not going to get much in return for him....if they could get a 20 ish something first rounder, I'm sure they consider/do it, but that just doesn't seem likely. |

I would target the Nets. They're not getting top FAs.
I had initially kicked the JC for RHJ idea. Get some wing defense and salary relief.
But Nets seem to be a good possibility to trade JC. Maybe he can start with Lin? _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |
