Yea. He reminds me of Nick a lot the way he talks as well. |
Not the smartest cookie for sure. Replacing JC with Lonzo probably increases the collective team IQ by several points.
Not surprisingly, the idiots I generally play pickup ball with think JC is the Lakers' best player. |
Yeah. I think Magic/Pelinka/Luke want smart and intelligent players. JC...um, not so much. Probably a nice guy and fun to be around with though. |
We could make a competitive offer for Patty Mills, seeing as how San Antonio might be busy clearing space for Chris Paul. Would love having Mills on the team. |
IIRC, isn't Mills a free agent?
Not sure if they want to spend that much on a backup guard. JC's 12.5m/year pricetag is a bit steep for a backup. |
Rather have Mills than JC any day. Perhaps at a little less though. I'm thinking maybe $8-10M. Don't like the JC fit with Lonzo one bit. |

If it was for Detroit's 12th pick. I'd definitely consider doing that.
Otherwise, what can we realistically get that Clarkson can provide at less of a price? I like where we have Clarkson at and would like to try him as a real 6th man this time.
I can see why we would want this but at the same, I'm not in favor of it unless we got a pick like that in return. _________________ Darvin Scam: https://media.tenor.com/images/3c15249955860a4b16b59e8ae035fb75/tenor.gif |

JC+ Moz for Brook Lopez. We get rid of salary and Nets can have a good back court partner for Lin. Brook is an expiring contract for them and they lack talent. _________________ Showtime 2.0 |

Yeah, a deal with no incoming salary (just pick) would be ideal. Gives us more wiggle room to chase another quality free agent. |

Also long term, if you're looking to add a PG13 onto the roster one of the guards have to be moved. |
We aren't adding PG to the roster, he isn't a FA. If we trade for him we would likely include someone like JC, DLO or Ingram. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

So the Spurs are going to clear salary by adding $9 mil more salary? Never mind that Mills is a FA we could just sign. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

I really don't see $12.5m per year as big salary in today's NBA.
You are going to pay $10m for any rotation player. If Clarkson was going to hit the open market, he would be getting much more than $12.5m given his age and potential. |

Interesting. I wonder how this will play out?
I guess the Lakers have seen enough of JC to think he's done or capped as far as he's going to go.
Its a shame because he has a lot of potential.

To be fair, the report originally came from someone named Moke Hamilton.

He only has 8k followers but he works with Steven Kyler.
Both Moke and Schultz are NY based so..... _________________ Endgame

Okay I'm going to call BS on this.
So a basketball player, at halftime, in the middle of coaches speeches, film review, etc, pulls out his phone and starts ordering tables?
Uhhhhh... no?
First of all, it's no secret JC is very involved in the Hollywood scene. But to conjure up this idea that he's making party plans at halftime is crazy. Besides, he's got his boys to take of that stuff.
JC is a competitor guy.. maybe not on the level of BI or Jules or even DLO, but I cannot for a single second believe that "Shawn" whoever that is, is correct. |

I've liked this deal as a win win. Big picture Magic has eyes on PG13 and Cousins. Lopez gets renounced or is resigned if need be. Ill take his floor spacing upgade over Moz and hope Randle helps pull down the boards that we know Brook won't get.
I'd really focus on JC, 28, Black and Nance as chips that could be shoped to rid themselves of Deng and Mozgov both. It may not be realistic, but a goal to try and fit both max players. You're betting again Clarkson expanding his game, but he's replaceable as eventually theare will settle and a solid combo guard will want to showcase as a bench scorer. |
