Decent debut, only gripe was his careless turnovers. I doubt he’d go 0-4 much from long distance. He’s also not what he used to be defensively. His first quarter was sensational

He was feeling it out. And he still had what, 26/12/6?

Wow.

Yeah, guy is a freak...
I think he didn't try to do too much in the 4th quarter on purpose, he let the ball in Rondo's hands a lot while he could have take over. I take that as a positive....

Did anyone else think he got tired in the second half or is it just me?

Only 8 points in second half. IMO he can’t play at this pace.

Could be.

Looked like he was feeling it out to me. Somewhat testing the young guys.

He knows the Cleveland situation all over again won’t win him anything. I think he will take over for some games, but big picture he needs the young guys to be assertive and show they can take over a game.

I'm not sure he was THAT tired, but for sure at this pace Luke will have to cut his minutes...

The whole end of the game was a very dad teaching the kids moment. The good news is that Lebron's "exasperated with the yutes" face from the 4th Q will be highly memeable on NBA Twitter.

I don't know about him getting tired because there was about 4 minutes left and he had been in the entire time and the camera cut to him and he wasn't laboring in his breathing at all.

He definitely took a few defensive plays off down the stretch.

Felt to me like Lebron could have tried taking over the game in the 4th but decided to see what the other guys had. Feeling out process for everyone.

If that’s the reason why he looked laid back then I am fine with that because we all know he has proven to take over games in the 4th, so we know he will start putting up great 4th quarter performances soon.

Those two dunks to start the game are instant all-time great moments in Lakers history and will be one of the most iconic moments of his career. That was unbelievable to watch live.

Not just the second half, but after his first shift. The energy to start that game was so off the charts I think he might have been sapped.

Last night was the fastest pace game LeBron has every played in his career. IF our winning percentage is not looking too good, might we start to ask the question in the future, is that pace ideal for a LeBron led team? I know it's only one game, so let's see how it works out.

Trust LeBron. He know when to slow the game down. He's been pacing himself for years. Luke has to be a PT manager. Save him for the end game.

When he joined I read a piece somewhere that said something similar when he re-joined the Cavs, he wanted to see what the others could do so he deferred quite a bit early on in the season.

He basically did the same thing in his first game, seeing what the young guys can and can't do.

Yeah it makes sense. I'm thinking Lebron has found that sacrificing some early games to gain more understanding of his teammates and build chemistry/confidence in his guys is more important for long term success than getting off to a fast start.

It was great to see (throw in the Lillard dunk, as well, just for the sake of drama).

Was a huge pronouncement that the Lakers once again have a superstar.

You must be really young or a newer fan. Those dunks didn't mean a damn thing.

........ Fasten your seatbelts!

* LeBron James played the fastest paced game of his career in his Lakers debut!

"LeBron James embraced the pace as the Lakers flew up and down the court in Portland."

I did. I don't think the run run run mentality is good for him (or Javale).
