Lakers' LeBron James: Held out of practice Thursday
Rotowire 2H AGO
Quote:
James was held out of Thursday's practice to stay fresh for the Lakers' upcoming road trip, Kyle Goon of the Southern California News Group reports.

There's nothing to indicate James is dealing with an injury that could keep him out of Saturday's game against the Magic.
Coach Luke Walton noted that it's a priority to keep James healthy following a physical game against the Trail Blazers on Wednesday, where he dropped 44 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists, three blocks and a steal in 36 minutes.

And some fans suggest our training staff doesn’t care about our players, when it’s obvious that they do, they are being cautious with our guys as much as they can.

This training/coaching staff cares.

Averaging 35 minutes. If they can get it down to 32 or 33, while still winning that would be ideal. Obviously he will play 38 in some games and 28 in other games.

LeBron starts each season conservatively, but this great to watch. I’m hopeful that we come to rely on the youngsters to carry more of the load as the season unfolds.

It was worrying to see him lying on towels in the middle of the game and not sitting on the bench. He's done that before, when all his back problems came to a head in 2015, but he told Walton he felt great which is some relief ... and he didn't look hampered on the court (in 2015 the number of dunks he had was well down on the previous year due to his back).

Don't want to see that regularly though. Makes me worried. One journalist also noticed and put the question to Walton.

That Florida Road Trip is normally brutal for us. The Magic and the Heat like most teams always gets up extra to play the Lakers and it’s normally a tough battle.

Feeling more confident with Lebron of course but it should still be a war 🔥🏀🔥🏀

I meant Kuzma’s gonna stick a needle in Bron’s A$$.

I'm hoping LeBron sticks a needle in Ingram's butt instead

Today I learned why Ariza is never coming to the Lakers.

Back in 2003 as one of the best high school basketballers in the country, Ariza and his uncle decided to trash talk the self proclaimed King in the lead up to an important game. A highly touted Ariza on a top ten team. End result? Lebron scored 52 points in their matchup, Ariza scored 12.

The youtuber says their rivalry and simmering dislike continues to this day.

Kyle Goon? Oof. He's heard every snide quip about that name in his life. He's comfortable with it now.

Stephenson's on the team. That stuff can go away when they're actually on the team and I doubt they'd be as bad as Shaq/Kobe. I think Trev not wanting to come back would be due to being let go in 09 before they even let him and his stupid agent field offers to see what his market value was. Mitch just dumped him and signed Artest on July 1 iirc. That would be something to be a little miffed at the Lakers in an institutional sense. Maybe if the Lakers are his best offer at this point in his career, he might be down with it. Money and minutes are still worth a lot to a guy his age.

Would love to see him at around 30mpg if at all possible.

Lakers need to be able to play even or build leads when he is on the bench. One goal should be to see how many fourth quarters they can keep him out off. One way to do that is to keep increasing the defensive efforts and create TOs and easy scores. Still need James when the games slow down and become a grind.

As we just saw, James still has some big games left in him. Just not an every night occasion anymore.

How come you don't give an all time great performance on each and every one of your posts on LG?

I truly believe Julius would of thrived playing alongside Lebron.
Maybe he just didn’t want the reduced role? Either way life goes on.

BI and Kuzma gotta keep striving for perfection playing with LEgoat and I believe they will. Not easy to not get caught up in the moment whenever Lebron breaks a record. They just gotta continue to grow and get their’s as well.

It's still surreal Lebron passed Wilt on the all time scoring list. This is a great video. Enjoy.

ESPN has turned Woj into another garbage writer. That quote said nothing.

867 points to catch Jordan. If he stays healthy he will pass him this year.

4. Jordan - 32,292
5. Lebron - 31,425

Lebron wanted that record so bad at home on TV ESPN it was a little weird..lol

I guess we need accolades to get Lebron to go HAM
so hes prime for another big game

At this pace I predict!
Lebron passes Jordan to take 4th place. ---- Jan 15th when we play Chicago Bulls - that game will be moved to TNT ..lol
