I'm still waiting to see what happens in this Clippers game in Dec. 25, to see if the home opener was just a fluke or if Bron & AD are indeed the best duo. |
Lakers and Clippers are 5/2, Bucks are 5/1. It isn’t surprising that two SoCal teams are at the top since Las Vegas is so close. |
Yeah that's it |
That is how odds work, neither the Lakers or Clippers had the best odds, Milwaukee did. The odds have been adjusted due to betting patterns and fans are obviously betting on the two SoCal teams. I guess it could be people from New York or Georgia betting on the Lakers and Clippers but I doubt it. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

LeBron’s handshake to Quinn is probably my favorite handshake of his from his teammates. _________________ |

Another day, another 32/13 game for The King. And AD got 50. |

Amazing game from LeGod.
But I am most impressed with how he can remember all of those individual patty cake handshakes. |

On a serious note - how awesome is it to have a superstar like LBJ on your team put up his 32 and have the confidence in himself to allow his teammate and successor go for 50?
Incredible. |

1. Came to LA as a free agent
2. Had a large influence in getting AD and may be the main reason AD resigns.
3. If he can win a ring or two...
He deserves a statue. My goodness, we could have AD for the next 10 years. |

At least Cook does something well. He has been awful trying to play actual basketball. |

Remember that many is not a synonym for most.
Many in this case means more than the league average. |
Lebron James
% of FGA that are 3s and with 4 or fewer seconds in the shot clock: 4.6%
% of FGA that are 3s and with a man within 2 feet: 0.0%
Luka Doncic
% of FGA that are 3s and with 4 or fewer seconds in the shot clock: 3.9%
% of FGA that are 3s and with a man within 2 feet: 0.7%
Many in this case seems to mean almost never. |
Actually that's 16% of LeBron's total three point attempts, as only 29.5% of his field goal attempts are threes. Perhaps not as many as I thought, but if he shoots 30% on these it would bring down his average by about a percent.
Having to step back is duress whether the defender is within two feet of you or not. The step back creates more than two feet of space.
It can be hard to set up a good play if nothing's happening with under 8 seconds on the shot clock. A team can be up against the clock with as many as 6 seconds remaining. This is why synergy attaches video for every play they reference. Tonight the clock probably shouldn't have reset on one of LeBron's threes, but since it did, it will be recorded as a three point attempt w/ 23 seconds on the clock.
One question (as I don't have a synergy account), is this "4 seconds or less" stat counting the shots that go up with four seconds left, or through the net with four seconds left? |

But now you're just making up numbers. Who says that he shoots 30% on 3-point attempts with 4 or fewer seconds on the clock. |

I did not purport to know what percentage he shoots on these. Again, I don't have a synergy account, nor do I know where else I could find such information.
I was using that as an example, if he were to shoot 30% on such shots and they were 16% of his total shots, it would bring his season average down to 34%, when it would otherwise be close to 35%.
As of this moment he is at 36.4% for the season. Before today he was at 34.1%.
EDIT: LeBron was shooting 33.3% going into today from 3 with 4 or fewer seconds on the clock. Surprisingly, the so-called "percentage busters" don't lower his percentage significantly, a rarity among on-ball shooters in these situations.
Equally surprising is he is shooting 47% on threes with 4-7 seconds left on the clock (one attempt per game). Nearly a third of his three point attempts come with 7 or fewer seconds on the lock, and he is shooting about 41% in these situations. That means he's shooting about 31% on threes with 8 or more seconds on the shot clock.
