I'd like to try closing with something different;
Hart
KCP
BI
LBJ
McGee
4 two way players and someone at the rim; Kuz may
overtake McGee on smaller lineups & play PF... _________________ Lakers need to build a freaking team ! |

I just don't think "starters" will mean that much to us.
It's the closing group I'm most interested in.
In fact, could even see something like this (probably not likely but interesting to me):
KCP
Hart
BI
Kuz
LBJ
With LBJ/BI you have 2 guys who can run the offense. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Rondo is pretty clutch. I'd want him in a closing lineup for his decision making, even though he can't shoot. |

if they can move Deng instead of trading him....will not be surprised if KCP is around for a while....or I would doubt it, but it would not shock me to see him take the room exception so we could sign him long term the following season via bird rights. |
Minus the Hero Ball, making Kobe and his family leave early, and pre jail time KCP played great for us last season. We all love Hart, but there’s definitely a few things KCP does better than Hart. Coming off screens and his speed on fast breaks come to mind. |

If at end of game, LBJ will want the ball. I trust KCP/Hart as shooters a bit more than Lonzo.
Of course I have Lonzo starting and playing the bulk of the minutes, but if in a tightly contested game, I would be interested in this. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Hart's going to really have to shoot the lights out to get that kind of scratch. He has Magic's new additions (gotta make the boss look good) in Lance and Rondo to beat out as well.
I do agree with the logic of it, though. |

Kuzma starting over KCP confirmed. |
eh, because of better tats?
Kuz is not a guard by any means and is better as a 6th man role anyway where he will have more touches
I think Hart should start over KCP btw |
KCP is a better fit with LeBron, I like Hart off the bench. |
Why is KCP a better fit? |
Because he's better coming off screens. The Lakers run a bunch of different types of screens to get KCP shots. |

I don't think he's irrelevant. Whether he starts or not is irrelevant, with the presence of Rondo. But having him (even if it's off the bench) assures that there will always be another elite passer/playmaker on the floor at all times to take the pressure off of LeBron. The whole point is so that LeBron DOESN'T have to repeat the carry-job he did last season. |
Kuz and Ingram can carry the load while Lebron sits. If need a ball handler, then Rondo could fill that role, too. So Lonzo isn't really needed. |
Rondo can't play 48 minutes, and you don't want Kuz and Ingram creating all their offense for themselves. Never mind Lonzo is the best defensive guard, on the team, and someone who can push pace to create easy opportunities. This is a guy looking at shooting and claiming a guy has no value. |

That’s why Lonzo was 2nd team all rookie as well. Had he shot is college % he would have been in the ROY discussion. |

These are 2 way players to close out games & Zo can't shoot. These are all guesses so, just us throwing some lineups out there.
We all know Zo will get his minutes during the game though. _________________ Lakers need to build a freaking team ! |

I’ve mentioned his trainer Mike Mancias multiple times now and other members of his team include:
•Donnie Raimon, the former Navy SEAL who serves as his biomechanist
•A team of physical coaches and trainers, and personal chefs and masseuses (his own and the Lakers, led by Gunnar Peterson)
•From a business and personal perspective — LeBron has his trusted agent Rich Paul and business manager Maverick Carter to handle all business matters. His wife, Savannah, takes care of all family matters in the interim.

Many other players and teammates have commented on how LeBron prioritizes his rest, recovery, and health over anything else.

I have no doubt these efforts have an impact, but I would be interested in some type of informed estimate on the overall impact on performance/injury reduction. These efforts are likely fractional compared to his genetics, and even good fortune....but even if it only has a 3% impact on keeping him healthy, it is probably well worth the cost for him. |
Did you read the whole article? The habits he's built are the whole reason he's still able to play at a superstar level after all these years. It truly is around the clock covering every base of his physical well being in and out of the season. Proper nutrition, strength training, SLEEP, recovery, more strength training, sleep, post workout meal etc. You think that only has a minuscule impact on his physical condition?
How many guys with gifted genes have you seen wash out of the NBA, NFL, any sport due to lackluster work ethic and recovery? This is like saying Kobe's otherworldly training mayyyyy have a 4 percent impact on his overall output. | it does have an impact but his dna has the largest impact. how many guys do you know that work out like crazy doing all the things they are supposed to and then some. yet they continue to get injured. Thats their DNA and bad luck more so than a regimen. i say the super regim has a 20 to 30% max help. the rest is all dna. |

Lonzo's elite playmaking needs to be out there with Lebron to close games. Imagine Lebron playing off ball cutting for easy baskets with Lonzo setting him up? Then once you close that off you can still have Kuz and BI stretching the floor and spacing with Lonzo being able to make a play if he gets the ball at the 3 point line with a defender running back to recover on him. |

Excuse me, but, Hart & Kuz are NOT 2-way players; they are BTW 2nd-year players and that way is a very good way of making them fail. |

Nice, close to what I would like to see. In the end I think it will be all about match ups and just how well each player has done in that particular game.
Ball
Hart
BI
KUZ
BRON ( still cannot believe we have him in PnG) |

Yeah, I imagine LeBron will do what he does, play-make to close
games out...plus Lonzo is a liability from the charity strip; that's not ideal
for closing out... _________________ Lakers need to build a freaking team ! |

If we make playoffs this season and add Kawhi next when gsw might be weaker due to salary issues we could be seeing a chip 2 years from now.
As for the lineups. It'll be interesting to see what lineup closes games. We are deep and versatile so it might just be a case by case basis. I'm curious as to the offense luke plans to run because it might determine the lineup. If he wants to run a ball movement positionless style then everyone in the lineup has to be able to defend pass shoot and drive. If hes going to run offense through lebron primarily then shooting primarily is the premium factor with the ability to defend. I'm hoping it's the former. Lebrons style of orchestrating and drive+dishing is somewhat predictable. As we've seen it needs other elements to diversify the offense ie kyrie whom can break off from the lebron system and do his own thing, or wade with the heat. |
