LAbron jersey also #1 best selling jersey. Lakers make money off the jersey sales, another reason why Lakers will do everything possible to keep him.
We are going to see many more years of this GOAT.

Dream on. If he doesn't win a championship this year or next year he's going to be ran out of L.A. on his heels. We don't celebrate 2nd best here....he can take that act back to Cleveland and you can continue to fawn over him there. |

Yeah, cause I’m sure if he doesn’t bring a title to LA fans will be ecstatic, Lol.

Hmm. Lebron practiced today.
And AC is listed as probable!
I think the Rockets are gonna be in trouble. |

Tatum is probably the most overhyped/overrated player in the league right now. Gets worse every year and is living off of one playoff run that happened years ago. Jaylen Brown may be better than Tatum right now, and Kemba definitely is. Tatum is worshipped by Boston fans and seen as the next coming of Kobe. |

To someone who obviously likes losing and can't wait for us to be the 2020 Cavs after lebron leaves I guess it would be stupid. To quote Kobe's wife "We only play for rings". lebron has not earned any Laker credit to be doing his farewell tour here. I don't know about you but if he doesn't win a championship then this whole thing was a $154 million disaster.
But hey, this post is stupid to someone who's probably going to celebrate the Pacific Division banner. One thing that's really going to make me puke is if lebron brings his "Oh well I tried, runner-up" mentality to Laker Land and fans start buying into that.
And please don't start with the infantile "You're a hater" nonsense. lebron has lost 6 times in The Finals and has come up small in some very big moments. That's on him, not me! |

What's up with lebron's work ethic? Hasn't worked on any part of his game since year 1 it seems, i'm not exaggerating here. It's pretty clear his game is based on stats and covering up his weaknesses, it's not enjoyable and it's frustrating and shocking. Hardly any scoring explosions in reg season the past 3 years, willing his team is non existent, passes up shots, takes possessions off, no trust in taking more jumpers, super aggressive only for transition layups to get free points and high fg% to make him look efficient, Now he's gunning for league assists leader like wilt. All he does better than a kobe for example, is run and jump. |

Jeanie Buss and LeBron James have a close relationship. She is 100% committed to Bron and vice-versa. It is extremely likely that LAbron finishes his career as a Laker, including a farewell tour.
Statue and Jersey Retirement can be justified if he finishes:
#1 all time scorer (likely to happen within 3 seasons)
3 time NBA Champion (maybe more?)
Top 10 all time assists (already achieved)
Top 10 all time steals (likely to happen)
The writing is on the wall. I'm loving this as a long time, lifelong Lakerfan. Also, I think LAbron is the greatest player ever.

Interesting comments above of James getting a “statue and a jersey retirement “. Doesn’t he need to excel as a Laker first?
All the things you mentioned are lifetime achievements earned with other teams over a long career. No question James has earned his place in the GOAT conversation.
To gain “Laker” accolades he needs to contribute as a Laker first. His play this year is a tremendous step towards that but he needs to finish the season with a championship. An MVP would help his Laker legacy too. Or maybe another “3 years” of stellar play, as was mentioned.
So far in a Laker jersey he has had one disappointing season, one amazing season to complete, and a whole lot of media hype. I will hold out on my judgement on a retired jersey (and even more so on a statue ) to see how how long and how well he continues to play in a Laker jersey.
Open to the idea but the man needs more Laker accomplishments not just lifetime achievements IMO. Truly hope to see them occur over the next couple seasons. |

If he doesn’t win a title here there is no statue or jersey retirement. He would just be another player who finished the tail end of his career here. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |
