I like a analogy I heard about this fight. It's like throwing LeBron James in the pool with Michael Phelps and saying "On your marks, get set, GO!!!! _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.
America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves. |

I have tried to buy into the hype of this boxing match.....but I can't see past there is only one boxer participating. Just cannot imagine Mayweather losing. |

This is like a train wreck and it's a must watch. I am rooting for McGregor. I am a UFC guy and love rooting for the underdog. Would love to see Floyd end his career 49-1. And yes apparently this is a real boxing match and will count against Floyd's record. Obviously Floyd is a big favorite but I came up with some reasons McGregor could have a chance.
1. Much bigger than Floyd. Will be close to 170lbs tonight.
2. 8 Oz. Gloves. Gives Conor more punching power if one lands.
3. The benefit of watching film on Floyd. Floyd has no film to watch of Conor.
One more tidbit. From what I understand if Conor gets disqualified in the contract he will lose 7 figures. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

What irks me about this fight is it counts for a real boxing match and will go on Floyd's record. He can break Marciano's 49 0 record with a farce. Like Bret Farve allowing Michael Stahan to break Mark Gastineau's single season sack record. There have been lots of other boxers to go farther than 49-0.
Rocky was a heavyweight so already not really a good comparison.
And there were people Marciano fought on his way to 49-0 who were trash too.
I don't really care who wins this fight, but I should count either way |

After he beat Pacquiao, I feel like he deserves his perfect record. Be it 49-0 or 50-0. Conor is a bigger, top-tier MMA fighter. So its not like he's fighting some bum off the street. After the fight we'll see if he can compare to an average pro-boxer. But I imagine Floyd will make him look bad. So it'll be a tough comparison. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better” |

Mayweather wins in a decision.....but with a twist.
McGregor puts Mayweather in a submission hold after the match is over.
Everyone wins. |

Rocky fought in a era with good heavyweight competition. Archie Moore, Joe Walcott, Ezzard Charles, Joe Louis, Tony Galento to name a few. Two Ton Tony was kinda of a punching bag but he was tough.
Only fighter I remember being undefeated after 49 was Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. He went 89 0 before losing. Who were the others that went undefeated after 49 contests? _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Conor is great at what he does and he's younger but I learned a long time ago not to bet against Floyd. I havent watched boxing since the ufc became big so I would like to see Conor win.
I'm no expert on the subject so nothing will really suprise me |

Yeah, but Rocky Balboa fought Thunderlips, The Ultimate Male. I just saw it 10 mins ago on AMC. Boxers vs Wreslters has been done before. Looong tradition. _________________ GOAT MAGIC REEL

Uh Huh, Muhammad Ali fought sumo wrestler Antonio Inoki. IIRC Inoki kicked Ali in the hamstring. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

This is a fight with loads of built-in EXCUSES:
If Floyd wins, Conner gets to say:
1. Well, if we fought an MMA match I would beat you,
2. I'm not only a boxer so it makes sense you would win,
3. Floyd, would not stand and fight, he just kept running away,
If Conner wins, Floyd gets to say:
1. Well, I haven't fought in 2 years,
2. I'm a lot older than you,
3. If I had fought you in my prime, I would have beat you,
In the scheme of their respective MMA & Boxing careers, this is a meaningless fight and that is why I would not pay a hundred bucks to watch it..
(I do hope Conner wins though...) _________________ “Always remember... Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.” |

Max said plenty went 49 0. He also said they had draws along the way. How many went 49 0 0? _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Apparently UFC Fight pass is down because they weren't prepared for the influx of users...guess there are a lot of unhappy PPV customers now. |
