Quote:
Grizzlies owner Robert Pera has been, at different times, both overbearing and distant in Memphis.

What’s clear: Pera owns the Memphis Grizzlies.

But for how much longer?

Ronald Tillery, who previously covered the Grizzlies for The Commercial Appeal:

SOURCES: @RobertPera inquired about moving Griz last August.

More in link. Move back to the Northwest. Back to Vancouver or move to Seattle and change the name to the Supersonics.

That would be awesome for Seattle. Not only because they'd get an NBA team back but because they lost their team just as it was trending upwards like the Grizz are now.

Hopefully they move to Seattle and rename themselves the Thunderf***ers. And then win a title before OKC.

Seattle is a much better NBA market than Memphis and deserves a team.

What happened there was a travesty, typical of the heartless David Stern era.

Personally I don’t care about Seattle or the Sonics but it’s a much easier flight from LA, and a much longer flight for the Celtics so just for those reasons alone I’m in favor of it.

I’ve always liked the Grizzlies for giving us Pau. My second favorite NBA team— the Zach Randolph era was fun to watch.

Highly unlike you will see another Canadian team, probably more likely of them moving to Seattle, where the city has experienced an economic boom due to the growth of home grown companies like Amazon.

I'm not sure how much an extra hour in the air matters anymore, given that NBA teams travel on comfortable private charters.

Move to Seattle and call the team the Seattle Melvins.

I think it makes a difference, especially if you factor in the time zones. Memphis is two hours ahead of the west coast.
